Story
Meet Jimi Hendrix (aka Harry), the adorable Japanese Chin/Chihuahua mix with a heart as big as his name! This sweet and affectionate pup loves to play with his brother Slick, and when playtime is over, he enjoys cuddling up for a quick nap. Harry gets along well with others and is a delight to have around. Harry uses pee pads in his pen and will let you know when he needs to go. If moved to a separate potty area, he will use it reliably. He currently doesn't go potty outside. Harry and Slick sleep together in a dog crate or their cozy pineapple bed in the dog pen, surrounded by other pets. Harry dislikes sleeping alone and prefers to curl up with other dogs or someone holding him. This tiny pup needs careful attention when he's running around, as he could easily be underfoot. Harry can get startled by loud noises or big things and will run to hide, showcasing his impressive speed. Given his bond with Slick, it would be ideal for them to stay together-they play and support each other wonderfully. Harry's little masked face is irresistibly cute, and his playful, loving nature makes him a perfect companion. If you're ready to welcome a dynamic duo into your home, come meet Harry and Slick at Little Dog Rescue and let them bring double the joy to your life! * Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Meet John Lydon "Johnny" (aka Slick), the tiny yet mighty Japanese Chin/Chihuahua mix with a big personality packed into a 2-pound frame! Slick is brave, curious, and thinks he's much larger than he is. This playful pup loves to chase, wrestle, and chew on everything to soothe his puppy teeth, so be careful-he forgets his size! Slick is very social and gets along well with other dogs, but he needs a playmate his size to match his energy. After his intense play sessions, he sleeps soundly and doesn't appreciate being woken up early, showing off his adorable grumpy face. This little guy doesn't like the cold and will shake, so keep him dressed warmly or ensure he has a cozy spot in air-conditioned environments. Johnny uses pee pads and is great at letting you know when he needs to go. He'll use a designated potty area if you set one up. Slick sleeps in a crate or a pen with his brother Jimi, often cuddling together in their pineapple bed or on a dog bed. The two are inseparable and do everything together. Johnny is food-motivated and a sweet cuddler when he wants to be, often curling up around your neck for a nap. If you're looking for a playful, social, and affectionate companion, Johnny is ready to bring his spunky spirit and endless love into your home. Come meet this little dynamo at Little Dog Rescue and let him steal your heart! * Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue.
