Story
Meet Ridge! He is a 3 year old Alaskan Mal/Husky mix that we recently rescued from the dog sledding industry. Ridge is a young and playful pup on the search for his perfect match. He adores the people who care for him but may take a little bit to fully trust the environment he is in. Once Ridge realizes that he is in a safe place with people who care about him, we can guarantee that you will be taken aback by this amazing dog. Ridge loves to be by your side at all times, whether you’re resting on your couch after a long day or whipping up a tasty breakfast in the kitchen. Although he doesn’t seek out affection, Ridge isn’t one to shy away from a good head scratch. Wrestling with his furry foster sister is Ridge’s favourite pastime. Although, his new found love for squeaky toys is a close second! Ridge’s curiosity and friendly nature can sometimes get the best of him on walks, he loves to try and make friends with everyone, from people who pass him to all the wild little creatures running around! Ridge loves his furry friends, although he becomes nervous around dogs who are bigger than him, so he would do best in a home with small dogs or dogs similar in size. He has not been cat tested. Ridge is house trained but he will need somebody to continue working with him on his crate training. If he has something to keep him occupied he settles in, otherwise he may be quite vocal. Although he enjoys to be outside of his crate during times where no one is home, he will need to be put away. He is not destructive but he does think socks are his chew toys so crating is the best and safest option until he beats this habit. Ridge is looking for his people. He’s a loyal dog who needs someone who is going to be patient, committed, and loving. Somebody who understands that he's had a rough past and needs gentle love. In return, you will gain a very special bond with a very special dog. *Ridge's adoption fee is seven hundred. He neutered and up to date on all relevant vaccines. Story
Meet Nova, Nova was rescued from one of the worst dog sledding kennels in September 2022. There were close to 250 dogs living on short chains in filth. She has lived in a home since her rescue day. She was so traumatized from her past that it has been so difficult to get her to trust fully. She has come a long way but still has more to go. She no longer shakes when you approach her. She willingly takes treats from you and gets really excited when it’s meal time or when you arrive back home. Nova doesn’t really play with toys and doesn’t really come for cuddles or pets and will need more work to enjoy being pet. She walks great on a leash, however at times will still attempt to “circle” like she is still tied on the chain. She is great with other dogs, cats, and kids. The home that Nova is in now is very busy and they feel that she needs a quiet home with possibly one other dog to help her build more courage. Her current home has 2 other dogs that are more dominant and we feel that this has prevented her from having her own confidence. Nova is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. If you believe you could provide Nova with the safe, stable environment she so needs, you can apply to adopt her, here: https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250
