Story
Meet Red, a 4 year old, 53-pound male Chow mix.Red got his name from his gorgeous coat. He was brought to the adoption center by Wapato animal control and has been doing great. Red does his best to keep a clean kennel. He was in a temporary pop up kennel due to over crowding and remained quiet and relaxed. We would love to see Red have a great yard as he is a fun lover. This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Meet Becky, a 1-year-old female Akita/Husky mix.Becky was brought to the adoption center injured due to being hit by a car. She is receiving care and recovering well from her second digit metacarpal fracture but would do best in a home. Becky loves people and has been social with all the staff. Even during her care, she welcomes pets and will lean against your leg for ear rubs. Becky is currently not very fond of other dog interaction. We do not know if she is more of a lone wolf or if she is currently less social due to her injuries. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Becky please contact YHS today. This pet is available for adoption on 8/8/24 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
