Story
Location: Lexington, SC Name: Birdie Age: Vet said 3-5 years Breed: Great Pyrenees - assuming purebred (double rear dewclaws, double coat, correct eyes, etc.) but only 78 lbs and not significantly underweight or anything M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies and DHLPP, heartworm negative and UTD on heartworm prevention; trying to get her scheduled for spay but still currently intact; microchipped Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: has been around dogs of all sizes and kids with no problems, had her around my cats some with no problems but it has been minimal time around them Aggression or medical issues?: none Reason for rehoming?: found stray - no owner could be located House/crate trained?: Unsure as she likes to spend most of her time outdoors simply due to the breed. She has been inside some with no problems, but it’s been minimal. She’s mostly just confused and lays there. I think she was wandering for awhile. Additional info/story (personality): Have not had any issues with her jumping on me and she has been very sweet with me. Enjoys being brushed and petted indefinitely. Will need a fenced-in yard or she will wander (but no issues her escaping my fence). Is friendly and follows me around everywhere after she warms up. Goes fully immobile when I put a leash on her (falls to the ground and lays there, will not move), so working on that. Didn’t freak out and was extremely gentle when I took her to a busy clinic area for vaccines, but of course had to be carried mostly as she simply doesn’t know what to do on the leash. Food motivated. Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home and remaining vetting is completed (spay).
