Name: Kehlani Breed Guess: Doodle Mix Age: 4 months old on 2/23/25 Gender: Female Weight: 70-100 pounds as adults Children: Puppy - will need proper socialization Cats: Puppy - will need proper socialization Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $350 Hi! We came all the way from Mississippi to find our forever homes. We play hard and nap hard. We can be pretty shy at first but we're learning that attention from people is pretty awesome! We've been at the ARP since 1/19/25 and are currently living at the rescue. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Walter Walter is a Male Poodle Mix DOB: November of 2022 Adoption fee: $150.00 I weigh around 22-25 pounds, I am full grown. I appear to be somewhat house trained. I keep my kennel clean and quiet while in a crate. I enjoy attention and receive affection very nicely, but I can be reserved with those I don’t know. I do like time to warm up on my terms before I dive in. I walk on a leash well, if I am going in the direction I want, otherwise I may put on the brakes. I do have a playful side and enjoy playing fetch with toys. I would love a physically fenced yard. I may require it pending previous experience, location and/or other plans for containment. I have been dog selective while here. A meet and greet can be conducted but there are no guarantees. I should adjust to a dog friendly cat. I may be okay with children 12+years or older pending observed interaction. I would do best with a family who is experienced with my breed mix. I will require regular grooming. I should do well with an experienced groomer.
