Story
Delia will receive a free session of Reactive Rover with adoption!**Delia is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Age: 2 yearsWeight: 23.5 kg / 51.8 lbsA little bit about Delia: - children okay, older recommended due to lack of manners - cats / small animals unknown; introductions should be slow and supervised over multiple sessions - only dog in home, due to demonstrated dog reactivityWagging her way into your heart and hopefully home, say hello to Delia! She`s a friendly and outgoing dog who loves to meet everyone but still jumps up to say hello. That`s why the ideal family for her would be without little kids and have an abundance of patience to help teach her proper doggy manners. Delia is also a pretty energetic gal and would love going on lots of adventures, hikes, you name it! Just remember that mental enrichment is just as important as physical enrichment, so make sure to offer lots of interactive toys and puzzle feeders, too! This slightly mischievous, toy-loving girl, will be happy to help you sniff out any toys or treats you may have lost in your home. Delia is more of a people pooch and is looking for a home without dogs, but she has potential to co-exist with cats if there are slow, supervised introductions. That`s all for Delia, but if you want to learn more, then make an appointment or come say hello today!

Story
*Cub is in the process of being adopted!*Age: 2.5 yearsWeight: 44.9 kgA little bit about Cub: - children unknown, older recommended due to jumpiness - cats / small animals unknown, history of prey drive - dogs unknown, potential for select other dog in home pending successful dog-to-dogA big boy with a lot of love to give, say hello to Cub! A friendly, outgoing boy, he`d love a home that is able to handle a strong dog like himself as he`s quite the puller when it`s time for walks! However once his initial burst of energy is over he can be quite a calm walking partner. One thing to be aware of with Cub is that he can get over-excited easily which usually shows as jumping and clasping. Luckily he is easily redirectable with treats and is an easy boy to train when you have his full attention. Cub doesn`t have the best manners when it comes to other dogs and often comes in hot, which other dogs aren`t always a fan of. But one things for certain; Cub will make an excellent addition to the home for the right patient, experienced family. Meet Cub today and leave here with your new four-legged friend!

Story
Age: 4 yearsWeight: 36.7 kgA little bit about Milkshake: - children unknown, older recommended due to fearfulness - cats / small animals unknown - previous history of living with dogs with limited information; select other dog in home okay pending successful dog-to-dogMeek but mighty, shy yet silly, Milkshake is a dog that needs a calm, patient family to call his own! With a tragic past, it`s understandable that Milkshake can be quite fearful of new people and places. He`s especially jumpy around fast movements or loud noises and will do best in a quiet household that can watch his body language and know when he needs more space. However, once Milkshake gets to know you (which doesn`t take too long!), you get to see how sweet and goofy he can be! It`s been noted by staff, volunteers, and his foster parent that he is a very good walking companion and is generally curious about other people or dogs. Milkshake is also great at moving away when he`s uncomfortable so be sure to set him up with a spot where he can go to feel safe and have some `me time`. Although he has lived with other dogs previously, there`s no known history on what that looked like. But your resident dog and Milkshake can have a doggy introduction after you`ve met him to see if they`ll be a good fit for each other! If you`re ready to adopt a wiggly, sweet, dog, then shake a leg and say hello to Milkshake today!

Story
Hi! My name is Chewy. I’m not sure you can tell, but I am the sweetest boy! I love to love! I have two boys in my foster home that I absolutely adore. I love the other dog in my house and I’m really trying to make friends with the cat, but he’s a little unsure of me. I love spending time outside, I can just lay out there and hang out! I am doing excellent with potty training and crate training. I am a happy go lucky mellow guy who would be happy joining a family who includes me in their fun! I can add lots of love and fun to your family! Please choose me!

Fergie

Labrador Retriever Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Male, 5 mos
Calgary, AB
Size

Good with dogs, Good with cats, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Fergie and his siblings are alive because a kind woman would go feed their pregnant mama who was living outside near a riverbank, shortly after being born there, mum and pups were taken to safety into the SPCA PV sanctuary. Now its time for them to find real families to love them. Fergie is stunning with his sleek black coat and white toes in a squirmy puppy body. Fergie was born with extra toes in his back legs, a condition that is not harmful (in fact some snow breeds were bred with them, so perhaps he was meant for a life in Canada!) Fergie is healthy, vaccinated and ready to travel to her new home with flights available to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and less frequently to Vancouver island. We think Fergie will grow to be about 55 lbs. Fergie has been exposed to cat and is playful with dogs. If you think you might be his happy ever after or a foster on the road to a better life, message us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com or go direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw (check your junk mail in case we get redirected when we respond)
