Story
Sugar is a 9mo old lab bully mix..alot more lab than bully and she's a big girl! She was loved but never exposedto the world outside of her home resulting in alot of fear..her go to is to drop to the ground and hope to the heavens that no one can see her. We are working on just walking with a leash and that's a huge ask for her..she does make progress every day. She needs a family that can help her..the biggest need is time and patience. Of you can give her alot of time fo4 a few months she will be perfect havi g a guide dog (calm and confident dog to lead her and help her learn normal dog behavior) she loves peopleand kids but does not know her size and she is very strong especially when frightened and her flight instinct kicks in. Sh3 needs a family ready to help her and give her the best life. Please contact us for your adoption application she has 6 siblings also looking for homes.

Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This is Gracie a sweet, mild mannered senior and certified super snuggler! Gracie is in foster care with the ECAS after her human had to go to a nursing home.  Gracie was born blind but we feel she can see shadows and has done a wonderful job navigating her new surroundings. In foster, Gracie has been enjoying outside exercise time, inside play time and lots of couch cuddling.  She has also been working on dropping a few excess pounds in an effort to gain back her girlish figure and maintain a healthy heart. Gracie is housetrained and has proven she doesn't require a kennel when left alone.  She rides nicely in a car but doesn't love it.  She can load and unload fine however she needs a little help with a boost for her rear end.  She walks well on lead and seems to love all she meets.  Gracie can manage a few steps in and out of the house but a whole flight of stairs does seem to be too tricky for her to manage. Gracie is vocal which is likely due to her keen sense of hearing and will let you know if someone or something is amiss outside.  She does have a foster brother and while she doesn't love sharing the love she understands it can't be all about her all the time.  Gracie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $200.00 Are you looking for a cuddle buddy?  This squishy 7 year old love bug might be just the right fit!     March 6, 2025, 6:54 pm

Story
Hi my name is Sissy. I am a 5.5 year old Lab mix and I originally came to Almost Home as a stray. I was adopted out and recently returned because I decided I know longer wanted to share my home with another dog and cats. I would love a home where I can be an only pet and be a princess. I am very nervous meeting new people. When I get super excited or nervous I smile and it scares a lot of people, but it is harmless. I love toys and you can usually find me carrying one around in my mouth. I am spayed, current on vaccines, negative for heartworm, and microchipped.

Story
Meet Maggie. This sweet Lab girl is 8 years old and was adopted out from us as a young puppy. She was just recently returned in January and is looking for a special home. This poor girl has urinary incontience pretty bad and she has had this issue her whole life. We have tried medication to help and it has not helped at all. She would do great as a shop/farm dog as this is what she has been used to her whole life. She is so sweet and we are so sad to see her in the shelter. She is a typical Labrador. Very friendly with everyone and loves playing ball. She is good with kids, cats, dogs, and we were told she was even good with chickens. We were told she is a fence climber and that she would run off sometimes, so she will need work on training with staying on the property. This girl is not liking belong cooped up and would like to go back on a farm. She is a dog that will need several baths and her back end kept cleaned. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped.
