Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Charlie is the bestest boy, and someone is going to be darn lucky when they scoop him up! If you’re looking for a dog that is up for adventure, be that exploring the outdoors together or napping on the couch, he’s your man. If you’re looking for a dog that’s good with every person they meet, including kids, Charlie’s your man. If you’re looking for a dog that will bond quickly and that’s a smart pup who will pick up additional cues/commands with ease, well look no further!  This dog is a total package!  Charlie joined us in rescue and was in need of some TLC. He’d spent some time living in an outdoor kennel, and had a torn ACL in addition to Lyme disease. Charlie has gone through treatment, including surgery on his injured leg, and has come through with flying colors! He took surgery, cage rest and physical therapy like a champ and is now feeling better than ever and ready to get out and explore. Charlie is not a fan of being kenneled or left alone for long stretches, he had enough of that to last a lifetime so for this next chapter he’s looking to be someone’s full-time sidekick. Charlie is not a great match with other dogs or cats.  Charlie’s adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations, and monthly preventatives. Charlie is seeking an indoor home only, if you would like to meet him please submit an adoption application through our website, Adopthope.org. Last Hope requires that adopters have a history of having kept their pets as indoor pets only, altered and kept current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 19, 2024, 7:58 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Juliette! She is looking for a forever home where she can have time to settle in and be herself. She is quite timid and will require a secure, fenced in back yard to run in. We don't know everything about Juliette's background but she is sensitive to having her collar touched and tends to drop to the ground if you go to grab her collar. Despite being a little shy, she is a very playful dog and would do well with another canine friend to live with. She gets along with other dogs of all sizes and plays very well with her 7 pound foster sibling. Juliette had not been cat tested so we are not sure how she would do in a home with other cats. She is potty trained and kennel trained. She loves her kennel and prefers to be in there when home alone because she is pretty anxious. Juliette does have some minor resource guarding and does not like if other dogs get near her food bowl so it is best to separate her into her kennel for feeding times. Juliette's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives, as well as a free basic obedience course at Cedar Run #2 in Hiawatha. Last hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor only pets and that adopters have a history of keeping their pets altered and current on vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting Juliette, please fill out an adoption application for consideration on our website, www.adopthope.org. Our adoption process includes a background check, vet history check, and a home visit. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 15, 2024, 1:18 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello, my name is Romeo! I am big boy with a big and adventurous heart! I love to go out to the park and explore the fields and (my all time favorite), play in the water! I truly believe I was born to swim...I would swim all day if I was allowed to! I love to dive under to get rocks from the bottom of the creeks, and I love playing a good ole' game of fetch, too! I will retrieve anything you throw into the water! I am looking for a home with no kids or cats, however, I do get along with other dogs and enjoy their company! I would love a family who is very outdoorsy and adventurous just like me, and who has strong dog handling experience. I am a smart boy and I can't wait to show you everything that I know! Romeo's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip and current vaccinations plus a 6 week basic obedience course at Cedar Run in Hiawatha, IA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Miss Billie is a small but mighty little girl looking for her forever home! Billie is just around 6 years old and full of energy. She loves toys and to run around playing in the yard. She is also eager to learn and can be motivated by treats so training comes easily to her. She knows most basic commands but gets super excited easily and you will notice her butt wiggles more than her tail! New things can be a little scary to Billie, she is a little skittish around new, loud noises but will recover quickly with some reassurance from her human buddy. Billie would prefer to live in a home with no young children as they can be quite unpredictable to her and that's frightening. She seems to do well with other dogs and has even gone on buddy walks with some of her friends at the adoption center. She is best paired with dogs that have calm and laid back energy, she doesn't appreciate dogs that invade her space or get in her face without a proper introduction. We have made a short introduction of cats to Billie and we'll be darned if she wasn't a little scared! She  had very reserved body language and really wasn't sure what to think of them! Billie does take daily prescription meds currently, these will need to be continued under the care of a veterinarian. Billie's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccines, and preventatives. Also included is a free basic obedience training course at Cedar Run in Hiawatha.
