Story
Hi, I'm Jack! I'm an 12 year old (mostly) Lab, looking to become part of a family and provide them with lots of love and companionship. My foster says I have a great personality and easy-going nature. I'm hoping to find a family that will provide a safe fenced yard for me to run around in, but I also enjoy long walks and do well on a leash. My foster will tell you how quiet I am, and while I don't like vacuum cleaners or the sound of lawn mowers, I'm not scared during thunderstorms or 4th of July fireworks. I do have to see my 'dog'tor a lot, but I am a really good patient! She calls me a lemon, but I just don’t see the resemblance to the yellow fruit. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to a lot of stuff, so I have to get allergy meds and shots, and I eat a special dog food. No matter how cute I make myself look, I do not get any treats, because my foster and 'dog'tor say they will make me itchy. I'm a really good boy for getting my paws wiped when I come inside, because the grass can make my feet itchy when my allergies are bad. Sometimes my ears get really uncomfortable and I have to get them checked, cleaned and medicated. I have had some painful infections in the past, so my ears can be sensitive. I'm housebroken and good about signaling when I need to go outside, but it would be great to have my own doggie door so I can go outside on my own. I’m embarrassed to say that I do have accidents on occasion; my old bladder can’t always hold it until I can get outside, so hard floors and puppy pads are my friends. I know and follow a few commands and I get along fine with kids, cats and kittens, but I'm not much for getting along with other dogs. Most important, I'm calm and loving and I very much like to snuggle! Even though I need a bit of extra help, I have more than enough love to give to make upfor it. My foster or 'dog'tor can tell you more about what I need to support me in my golden years. I'm one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. I look forward to meeting you and showing you how much love and companionship I have to offer! Story
*Courtesy Post Sammie is the sweetest, snuggliest dog and she loves everyone she meets of all ages! Squeaky balls and belly rubs are her favorite. She knows all of her basics: sit, down, stay, leave it, shake, off, out, wait, and kennel. Last summer we took her kayaking and she did really well, so could probably be reintroduced to lake life. Things she still needs help with: counter-surfing and learning to sit and wait for pets when people come in the house - she gets excited and wants to jump, but is learning. While she enjoys playing with other dogs, she has guarding issues and becomes possessive. She also can’t live with cats unsupervised, so a non-negotiable in rehoming her is that she will be the only pet in the household. This is what we know will give Sammie her best life possible. She will do best in a home with a fenced yard. On her own, Sammie would be a dream dog. Loyal and protective yet sweet as can be. Young and fun but not puppy-crazy. Perfectly healthy and eager to steal hearts. *Courtesy posting is a service RCHS provides to our community members who need to rehome an animal. This animal is not with RCHS and all information is provided by the animal's current guardian. Story
Betsy is a house-trained family dog (labrador retriever foxhound mix). She weighs about 80 pounds and love all the snuggles she can get. She was adopted at three months of age and has grown up together with our kids (ages 6,8,11,14). She is spayed and is up to date on her shots. She is a loving pup who never met a belly rub she did not like. Loves going for walks but can be a couch potato at times. She knows her basics such as sit, down, wait, inside, out, place and give me paw. She is loving and affectionate. She is very loyal and makes a very good guard dog. She has undergone obedience training and is e-collar trained. Betsy definitely needs a little more socializing. Betsy would love to have a safe and comfortable home where she can be loved.

Story
Zeus first came into our shelter after his owner unfortunately let him go because they no longer wanted him. He is a very sweet boy. He was in a home recently and it sounds like he didn't like to be left alone. We think crating him is the best fit if you are away from your home to ensure he remains safe. He is pending his testing with other animals.

Story
Hubble man came into us skin and bones with a severe ear infection. We have gotten him to a good weight, but we are still working hard on his ear. He is a sweet boy who is pending his testing with other animals. Until his ear is healed, he would be best in a home without smaller kids as it is very sensitive to the touch.
