Story
We brought Sailor Home from a pet swap in town, she is a sweet dog but for some reason she will not leave our older 14 year old Golden alone. She is always getting after him and he is having a hard time with it causing him alot of stress. We want him to be able to live out the remainder of his life in peace so we have decided to find her a nice home. She gets along great with kids and other dogs. We also have a cat and have had no issues. We have invisible fence that she is trained on and she is 100% potty trained. She loves to be around people and is very talkative when she wants something. Hoping to find her a nice home with someone to play with.

Maverick is a great dog and great with children. Maverick loves to run and is super playful and obedient. Unfortunately our son has developed pet allergies and we are unable to keep him . He will not run away off collar nor will he leave your side while on a walks. He loves to cuddle and thinks he is a lap dog sometimes.

Story
Gender: Female Age: # 1/2 Breed/Color: Lab / Black Location: Gregory, MI Pet ID: 2024_12 Adoption Fee: $350 Princess aka Prissy is one heck of an amazing dog!! She is a lab/hound mix. She has not seen a lot of new things, so she can be shy at first ... ohhhh but don't let that fool you!. She is used to and LOVES cats. Dogs are new to her, but man oh man she can play with them or leave them because she can play by herself!. She is a bit on the chunky side, so clearly she is food motivated in life. She does not know very many commands, but she is not unruly or ill mannered. Princess is the perfect dog for ANY home! Kids? Great! Cats? Great! None of that? GREAT! To adopt an animal from our sanctuary, the first step is to submit an application. *Please note we adopt within the state of MICHIGAN ONLY* The process takes a few weeks. It involves vet and personal reference checks and interview of applicant. There are no exceptions … Please remember that we are all volunteers and it may take a week or so after we receive your application to be contacted. Sometimes several people may be interested in the same pet, so please remember that not every animal is right for every home. To ensure a healthy and happy placement for our pets and their new families, we take the time to evaluate each animal’s temperament and try to match the right animal to the right family. OUR ADOPTION GUIDELINES All fees are subject to change without notice. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee the animal will be adopted to you. We do not work on a first come first serve basis. We collect applications and make our best determination on where we think the animal would thrive the best. We have the right to deny any applicant without explanation, and the decision is final. Very rarely do we get written documentation of an animal’s age and breed. We do not guarantee these, we work with professionals to help make the best determination. All of our foster homes follow a 30 Day Stay policy and do not make ANY exceptions. This policy requires every animal who comes into foster care, to stay in foster care for a minimum of 30 day before going to their forever home. Story
Imagine the perfect pairing of personalities, like peanut butter and jelly, or sun and sea. Well, fate has decided to bring you and this handsome boy together. Say hello to Groot, a sturdy yet snuggly adventurer with the perfect blend of energy and relaxation! This handsome boy knows how to turn any day into a great one with his love for water play, car rides, and a good ol' tennis ball chase. When he wants a little extra attention or a treat, he’ll let out an adorable chirpy whine—a sound so unique it’s bound to make you smile every time! Groot is also the king of house manners, with top-notch obedience skills and an impressive calmness during storms and fireworks. Groot is a dedicated yard guardian, always on the lookout to keep the squirrels and bunnies at bay. While his strong prey drive may keep your garden free of pesky critters, he has an equally determined opinion about neighborhood cats, so a feline-free home would be best. When it comes to people, Groot is all about quality over quantity. He’s a bit shy with strangers and prefers slow, respectful introductions that allow him to warm up on his own time. Because of his cautious nature, a calm and adult-only home without the unpredictability of children is ideal for him. If you're looking for a loyal, playful, and independent companion who balances adventure with relaxation and appreciates a low-key social circle, Groot might just be your perfect match! Submit your adoption application at the MAS website below to find out! D.O.B. is 09/06/20 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption application and survey at https://mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

College son’s dog, roommates don’t want a dog around. Will make an excellent family dog. Loves to play fetch and tug-of-war. Doesn’t bark or go after delivery people. Very happy, friendly dog. I think it has a lot of goldendoodle because he hasn’t shed at all. Sleeps in a kennel at night. Big paws so probably not done growing. Will be a big full size dog. Has been around other dogs and does well.

Story
Scout is a very energetic, friendly, eager dog. He was born October of 2023. We purchased him from a local breeder and he came to live with us at 8 weeks. He is AKC registered. He is up to date on vaccines and we give him Simparica Trio monthly. He is house and kennel trained. We are very torn to rehome him, but it is best for both him and us. He is a good dog, but our children are all very young and Scout is a big boy. He gets excited and either bowls over the kids or eagerly gets his paws up which is a problem for a small child. We also are struggling to give him the time and attention he deserves now that we have another newborn baby. He is very strong, so an elderly owner may struggle a bit taking him for walks and so forth. He is eager and pulls at the leash typically. I have hesitated to train this out of him since I want him to burn as many calories in the short while we spend outside on cold winter days. We are looking for the perfect home for him and in no hurry to rehome.
