Story
Kai, a heartthrob from Texas, is more than just a dog; he's has been an incredible ray of hope and healing for the kids at a juvenile detention center in Texas. Because of his exceptional willingness to learn, he was selected to be part of the Canine Leadership Program where the kids learn the skills of teaching the basics of the Canine Good Citizen test requirements. Kai has an infectious smile and his warm, inviting presence easily melts away stress and worry with every wag of his tail and his lean in hugs. This lover boy, 2 years old, boasts a striking brindle coat. Kai's gentle nature and unwavering love had earned him the title of "shelter favorite" in Texas. Whether you're seeking a loyal companion, a furry therapist, or simply a big bundle of joy to brighten your days, Kai is the perfect fit. His ability to provide emotional support and unconditional love makes him a truly remarkable dog. Kai has kidney disease and requires a special diet. To know more, please fill out an application. Kai's adoption fee is $200 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Meet Boots! Boots is one happy boy that is looking for a family to love. He's estimated to be about 1 year old and weighs about 65 lbs. His breeds? Well, your guess is as good as ours! He's a mix of some sort, but his personality is all love. He was found as a stray and has quickly adjusted to life in a foster home. He's crate trained, but has proven to be trustworthy to sleep in the living room with the other dogs. He is doing very well with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule. He does great with the two resident dogs in his foster home, and with children over 8 (younger kids are unknown as he hasn't met any yet). Boots is currently learning some basic training with his foster family. He's treat motivated and is eager to please. He loves to play with his foster family and then settle down with a chew bone. He also enjoys cozying up to his foster family. Boots pays close attention to noises and sounds outside, so living in a busy area may take longer for Boots to get used to. If Boots sounds like he'd be a great fit for your family, please consider applying! Boots' adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Meet Frankie! This handsome 3-year-old pit mix is a bundle of playful energy and sweet affection, just waiting to find his forever family! Frankie is a true gem – he's got fantastic house manners, loves car rides (who doesn't?!), and is a total water dog! Just picture him splashing and swimming with pure joy! This energetic boy walks well on a leash, is perfectly kennel trained, and even has e-collar training. Frankie is a social butterfly when it comes to people – he adores everyone, young and old, male and female. He's a inquisitive and playful pup who gets along well with other dogs, though his playful invitations might sometimes be misinterpreted as a little "provocative." He's just an active guy who loves to play! Sadly, Frankie's not a fan of feline friends, so a cat-free home is a must. If you're looking for a loving, playful, and well-trained companion to join you on all your adventures, Frankie is your guy! Come meet this amazing boy and see if he's the perfect fit for your family! Frankie's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Meet Otto! This handsome 5-year-old chocolate Lab is ready to trade his kennel for a forever home filled with love, adventure, and maybe even a few belly rubs. Otto has spent his life outdoors, but don't let that fool you – he's a friendly and active guy just waiting for the chance to blossom in a new environment. This water-loving Lab is always up for a good time. He's fairly good on a leash, suggesting some possible past training, and he's already crate trained, which is a great start! Otto gets along well with other dogs and is known to be wonderful with people, including a 10-year-old child. While his interactions with cats are unknown, his friendly nature suggests he may adapt well to a multi-pet household with proper introductions. Although Otto has lived outdoors, he's clearly craving connection. He's described as cuddly and eager to please, making him the perfect companion for an active, outdoorsy family. Imagine the fun you'll have exploring trails, playing fetch, and watching him splash and swim! Otto is looking for a family who will embrace his enthusiasm for life and provide him with the love and attention he deserves. If you're looking for a loyal and loving Lab to join your family, Otto is waiting to meet you! She's very agile as you can see, she likes to stand on things and watch the squirrels. She would make a great addition to any person or family that doesn't share walls with others.

Story
Spur is a sweet, playful boy who has gone through professional training and is ready to show his skills off to the rest of the world with his forever family! Spur in his "big boy" body but is still a playful puppy at heart. Spur got to fly on a plane with his mom Ruby when he was 6 months old to go from Texas to Minnesota where he will have a much better chance in life. It was the first time spur had ever been out of a shelter and he had a lot to learn about life on the outside. He has made so much progress! He went to professional board and train at liberty K9 where he graduated his obedience class. He is a favorite of his trainers! He is super food motivated and eager to please and learn. Although he has come so far he can still have his skittish tendencies in certain circumstances, there is still so much experience. Spur hasn't been around many children and is little afraid of them, so he would be best in a home with older calmer children or no kids at all. He has been venturing out into the world a lot and experiencing parks and trails where he has done an amazing job exploring and learning about everything around him. Spur has a great nose and loves to sniff everything. Spur is a happy playful puppy and loves to play with people or dogs. Although he is still learning boundaries and may need some guidance while he continues to work through what is and is not appropriate. Luckily for any adopter Spur comes with the tools and training plan to work through his teenage phase (thanks Liberty!). He knows Sit, down, place, leave it and he walks well on a leash. Spur loves his people and enjoys following them around the house throughout the day and getting in some cuddles on the couch! Do you have a spot on your couch?
