Story
Meet Vanessa, a spirited silver lab rescued from a puppy mill and now ready for a loving home that understands her journey. Vanessa finds pure joy running and playing in a fenced backyard, making it her happy place. She adores children and is working hard on leash training and gaining confidence. While she enjoys gentle pets, she's cautious around fast movements and loud noises, needing a patient person to help her feel secure. She is eager to have her own family with kids around her. Vanessa gets along great with other dogs but she likes to chase the resident cat now, only because the other dog chases her. Are you ready to give Vanessa the safe, loving environment she deserves? She's eager to share her affection and brighten your life with her sweet, resilient spirit. Story
Meet Justice a sweet 5-month-old lab/shepherd mix pup who made his way to Minnesota with his brother, Hero, when they were found as strays in Arkansas. The brothers hitched a ride north with Ozark Freedom Drivers for a better chance at a forever home. For puppies, they are quite large already at 5 months and will be large dogs when fully grown. The drive was long and hot, but they are now settling into life in their foster home. Justice's brother Hero was adopted, and now he patiently waits for his turn. He enjoys playing with their foster brother and going for walks. Justice walks well on a leash. He is totally potty trained in his foster home with access to the backyard via doggie doors all day. He sleeps in his kennel quietly all night and has no accidents. In a new home, he may have accidents as he learns the new routines. Justice is very smart and is catching on quickly to commands. He pretty much has mastered "Sit" and is working on "Down." He is also working on not jumping up on people. Justice is food-motivated and enjoys hanging out with his people. He is fixed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. Since he is a bigger puppy, families with small children might not be the best fit since he may knock them over. The family who adopted Justice's brother would like to stay in touch with Justice's adopters for potentially getting the brothers together for playdates! Story
Copper is a bundle of joy wrapped in a shiny coat. With his playful spirit and boundless energy, he's always ready to turn an ordinary day into an adventure! Whether it's chasing after a squeaky toy, playing fetch, or just running around in the yard, Copper's enthusiasm is absolutely contagious. However, Copper does have a tender side-he experiences a bit of separation anxiety, which means he thrives in an environment where he has plenty of companionship and understanding. He'll need a family who can offer him patience and reassurance while he learns to feel secure on his own. Copper is eager to find a home where he can be the center of attention and share his loving heart. He gets along great with other pets and would make a fantastic addition to a family willing to give him the extra love and care he needs. Copper can sometimes be a little too exuberant for small children and might be best suited to a home with older kids who can join in the fun without being overwhelmed. Copper also likes to chase cats, so dog savvy cats only please. Adoption fee is $300 plus tax, apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Meet Sugar, a sweet and resilient pup with a heart as big as her appetite! Rescued from Mexico, Sugar came to us very underweight, with multiple lacerations on her chest, neck, and front legs. With time, love and lots of treats, she has gained weight and her wounds have all healed. Despite her rough start to life, she's the happiest, sweetest little thing. She is a super affectionate and the snuggliest little snuggle bug! Sugar is a bit shy and anxious in new situations, but quickly blossoms once she feels safe. She absolutely adores cuddling and would very much like to have a doggy sibling to help build her confidence in her new home and navigate the big, scary world. She is working on kennel training, with the biggest challenge being her separation anxiety, which stems from her experience being bounced around to different people for the first four months of her life. But she's made great strides and now sleeps through the night in her kennel! She is not suited to an apartment due to how vocal she is when her humans put her in her kennel and leave. Except for when she is experiencing separation anxiety, she is a very quiet pup. Potty training is still underway, but she's a quick learner and with the right encouragement and consistency, she'll be a pro in no time. When she's with her people, Sugar is calm and relaxed, and she'll be an excellent candidate for off-leash adventures once she's fully trained. Sugar's endearing personality shines through, and she is destined to be a loving and loyal companion. She's ready to find a forever home where she can continue to grow, feel safe, and share her boundless affection. If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and adaptable pup, Sugar is the one for you. *Sugar would prefer a home with another dog *Good with kids *Cats unknown, but most likely fine with a slow introduction Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $300 plus tax.

Story
Chevron is a very sweet girl but can be a bit on the shy side. Chevron is on the smaller side and we don't expect her to get too big. She's been socialized with kids of all ages, dogs of all sizes and has been exposed to a variety of environments. Chevron, her siblings and mom came from Houston, Texas. Loves (mom) was abandoned at Loves gas station and lived on her own for four months. She then had puppies and after the pups were two weeks old, they were brought to a shelter. Forever Fido was notified that Loves and her puppies were on borrowed time and if they didn't have a rescue, they'd all be euthanized. We are guessing they were born around 5/11. They are ready to go and are currently in foster homes and they are doing great. They are getting the hang of a potty schedule and used to a crate. These puppies are super friendly and LOVE people, they are going to make wonderful family members! We have no idea who dad is but mom is a very sweet Pointer/Lab mix that will weigh about 45lbs. They are up to date on distemper, have had two wellness exams and have been microchipped. If you are interested in a pup, please fill out an application on our website and a volunteer will be in touch. https://foreverfido.org/adoptable-dogs/ If you email us through Adopt-A-Pet, you will be directed to do so before we speak with you. So, you will save time completing the application first. Our adoption fee also covers a lot of post-adoption support, discounts on training, boarding and daycare to ensure a successful placement.
