Story
Harley weighs about 59 lbs. and was born about October 7, 2011 or July 3, 2010 depending on which vet paperwork you'd like to go by.  The later makes him 14 which I struggle with as he is in great shape and moves really well.  He is a very pretty boy with lovely soft eyes and expressions.  He is wonderful with all the other dogs and was living with a spicy, tiny, Chihuahua until his human lost his job, in the greater Buffalo area, and had to move out of the country and were unable to take the dogs with them.  Harley rides well in the car and will stick with you off-leash while tending to the garden.  Harley is an amazing snuggly buddy and will curl up next to you and sleep soundly throughout the night.  This sweet boy has a lot of love left in him and deserves to be pampered in his golden years.  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $  250.00_. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Rowan was born around      and weighs about 55 pounds.  Rowan has experienced severe emotional and physical abuse from a special needs teenager in his previous home.  Rowan is timid and cautious, flinching at sudden movements or loud noises. He may cower or shy away from human touch, but deep down, he craves affection and reassurance. Rowan is in desperate need of a patient and loving home that can provide him with the safety, security, and rehabilitation he needs to heal and learn to trust again. We will be looking for a home for Rowan that has another 'bomb-proof' dog in it to help Rowan understand that humans can be really awesome. We will also be looking for a home with a physically fenced yard to ensure his safety.   If there are children in Rowan's next home, they must be older and have a firm understanding of Rowan's needs.  Rowan has never shown us aggression; instead, he chooses to cower or flee from the situation that makes him nervous.  We are told he is not good with cats, but we will be evaluating that ourselves as time goes on and Rowan becomes more comfortable. Rowan was likely dragged while on a leash at some point, and we will be continuing to work with him on his leash skills, but be prepared to further his training in this department.   Rowan has made incredible progress in his short time with us, and we feel in the correct home with experienced humans, he is going to continue to thrive, and his true goofy, happy, lab-like personality will overcome and outshine all the fear.    The Adoption Fee for this dog is $450.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Story
Milton and Marvin were born around January 25, 2023, and are big boys who might top out in the 85-90 pound range when they are done filling out.  These guys found themselves in a basement in Niagara Falls, and when the owner could no longer care for them (the same one who told us one of the dogs was a female) we stepped in to help.  They rode like champs in the car for the 2-hour ride to the rescue. Even resting their noses in our hands, as if they seemed to realize that life was about to get leaps and bounds better.  They will need work on a leash and are VERY strong. We have started the process, but you will likely have more work to do in that area.  They have done beautifully with the other dogs here and really enjoy romping and playing.  No small kids for these bouncy boys.  As a reminder, we do not adopt siblings to the same home. If you're curious why, please Google "Sibling Syndrome".  It's going to take some fine-tuning, but with patience and love, you're going to have an incredible new family member!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Story
I’ve had to make the heart breaking decision to re home Samson due to our busy and time consuming schedule. He is not getting the time and attention he needs and desires and has gotten to the point it is unfair for him. He love couch snuggles, stick chasing, and being outside in the summertime. He’s never far from you and is a Velcro dog. He is sweet and gentle and would never hurt a fly. He is 8 years old and shots all up to date.

Story
Oro is a 4 year old Lab mix weighing around 60lbs. He is sweet, quiet, and very food motivated which should make training a breeze! Oro is very dog friendly and will feed off of the other dogs energy, so he’ll play if they’re up for it but is also happy to just co-exist with another pup. He LOVES cats and will want to approach and say hi, but otherwise leaves them be. He is crate trained, and potty trained when kept on a consistent routine. Oro came with the last round of the KY hoarding dogs that TLC Rescue saved and he’s looking forward to finding a forever family! His only requirement is a crate when unattended because if there is food, he will find it, Oro is fully vetted and ready for adoption, but you can always try our foster-to-adopt program if you want to make sure he’s the perfect fit for you. If you’re interested in adopting Oro or getting pre-approved for any of our other dogs, please fill out an adoption application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt
