Keiko - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life!
Hey friends,
I’m looking for a loving home for one of my FAVORITE dogs on the planet, Keiko.
Keiko (Japanese for blessed/beautiful/celebrated child 🌸) is a 1.5yo lab/pittie mix who is just under 60lbs. She has gorgeous eyes that remind me of Jacob’s well, a velvet coat of gray and white spots, and a lot of baby pink on her face.
Back in November 2022, Keiko was part of a rescue mission where we pulled 7 dogs off the euthanasia list who were slated to be killed the day before Thanksgiving at a high kill shelter.
My awesome Mom fostered Keiko as a 7mo pup while having a broken ankle and boot on 💪. I walked Keiko everyday (she loves walks) and she also began throwing the ball to herself in Mom’s backyard entertaining herself, which she still does and is pretty endearing.
Keiko then spent quite a bit of time at my house with my dogs who became fast friends. She would do quite well with a 4 legged sibling to chase around the backyard.
Keiko has been at a very loving home for the last several months with her family, whom also is an emergency CPS foster child placement home. Keiko got the chance to love and dote on an infant and one year old foster baby, whom she showered with affection. She is wonderful with children, including my 4yo Niece, as well as with other dogs (with the proper introduction process of course).
Her family is going through some drastic changes, including an out of country move, and cannot keep her and her current foster has to cut her time short due to caring for a mother with escalating dementia.
This gal is beautiful both inside and out, knows some basic commands, is very snuggly and is housetrained. She loves long walks, splashing in the creek, playing in the yard and car rides!
