Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Lewistown, PA• Dugan is looking for a home to call his own! Dugan is a petite Lab/Terrier mix that is great with other dogs! He can be a little shy at first with them but truly loves them. He can be shy with people that he does not know but easily warms up to you. He loves to play and has lots of energy. We feel Dugan would enjoy a home with another dog who likes to play. He also enjoys cuddling with his people. He rides great in a car and loves long walks and hiking. No children for Dugan and a home that isn't super active. He was crated a lot in his prior home and can be protective of his people around strangers. Dugan will require a privacy fence if the adopters' home is in a suburban setting. Dugan will be the perfect companion pup for someone who does not require him to be a social butterfly. Once he trusts you, and knows you love him, he will give that love back 100 fold! Applications can be found on our website at www.onedogatatime.us PLEASE SHARE to help us find Dugan a family! When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are ran prior to choosing an adopter.. This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. Applications are found on our website www.onedogatatime.us. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Banjo and his sister Nadia are so extremely fortunate. So many like them have most likely died a painful death on farms all throughout the country. Nadia and Banjo came into rescue after a breeder scheduled euthanization with no solid diagnosis on what exactly was going on. We had to give them a chance and figure it out. Their condition was perplexing but thanks to Dr Bryan Langlois after some research and consultations with a few of his colleagues it was determined they most likely had Neosporosis. Blood tests were performed and this was confirmed. We are providing a link for you to read regarding this condition. These 2 are Dis...VERY... abled! They let literally nothing stop them. Nadia is a spitfire to say the least. She has a very big personality and loves to play and thinks she is the boss. Banjo on the other hand is a big softie. He too loves to play, but snuggling is his favorite. There is no way of knowing how long they will live or if their muscle atrophy will progress. What we do know is that they deserve a family of their own who will show them everything life has to offer. They are both good with dogs, kids and honestly unsure of cats. Trust us when we say these kids will enrich your life much more than we as humans could ever enrich theirs. Watching them thrive and live life to the fullest with literally no complaints from them has been a priceless pleasure as their foster parents. When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are run prior to choosing an adopter.. Story
Codie - Codie is a 2 year old super sweet lab mix that has been in foster care his whole life, patiently waiting for his forever family. His sister, Roxxie, was with us as well, but she was adopted this past year to a wonderful family. Codie loves to go on walks and loves the dog park & being around other pups. He is very shy at first with humans and other pups, but it just takes him a little time to warm up. He just has to make sure he can trust you. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He loves snacks and cheese. That's the way to his heart. He is fully crate trained and potty trained. If there was ever a dog that was autistic, I believe Codie to be. He is so smart and has really come out of his shelter but it really does take time. He would love to live in his kennel if I would let him, but I won't. It's going to take a special family who will take the time with him. He would thrive with another pup to lead the way. He follows Snoop around and steals all the toys and loves to grab things in the house to take to his kennel. 😂 If you are missing something, he usually has it. He is so sweet and so funny. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama, Pennsylvania and New England States. MAX IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE HE IS ADOPTED!  Max is a 3-year-old black lab mix with lots of energy and love to give. He loves to meet people and play with other dogs. He shows his love by sitting between your legs and looking up at you with his big puppy dog eyes. Max likes to play fetch outside and swim to fetch sticks.  He learns fast and knows the commands sit, stay, lay down, heel, out, potty, down, get a toy, and is always willing to learn more for a treat.  He is potty, leash, and crate trained and loves to play with other active dogs at the dog park. He would do well with an active family, but since he still thinks he’s a puppy. His adoption fee of $550 includes the transport to PA.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Max up north to his new family.     If you have any questions, please email us at:  newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com .   You can apply to adopt Max here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 10:00 am

Story
ECHO IS IN A FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE ADOPTED.   This is Echo. As you can see, Echo is gigantic, but gentle. Echo and two siblings were found on a dark country road in February of 2023. She was badly abused, and is extremely shy. Echo has received lots of love and attention, but is still a very scared girl, who will need lots of love and gentle care. New situations and people can be terrifying for Echo, and her fear sometimes expresses itself through aggression. We are working with her to overcome this, but she will need training and love. If you can break through that shell, you will find a gigantic, thoughtful, couch potato. If you give Echo a chew bone and a comfy seat, she will be one of the happiest creatures you have ever met. She is extremely intelligent, emotive, and personable. If you annoy Echo, she will remember it, and steal your seat in revenge. The only way to get her to leave is by giving her a belly rub. Echo will shadow your every move. If you are going somewhere, she wants to come with you. She is at her happiest when she has a nice chewbone and the seat next to you. She is fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped. Adoption fee of $550 includes the transport to PA.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Echo up north to her new family. Story
WINNIE IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE SHE IS ADOPTED!   Hi! My name is Winnie!   I would love to meet you in person—that’s kind of my thing. But the internet is life these days, so I’ll give it a shot!   I think life is an adventure, and I am excited about everything! My sister and my foster think I have too much energy, but I’m pretty sure that’s impossible. I love to walk, but I’d rather run. And I will play until the sun goes down, and then snuggle until we can play again.   I have been fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped. I weigh around 50 pounds.   All I need is a forever home, and some love. And maybe some play time. Lots and lots of play time.   Winnie, along with her sister, were found in rural Mississippi on August 10, 2022. At the time of her rescue, the vet estimated her to be about 6 months old. We picked February 25th to celebrate as her birthday, and she and her sister had a fun time celebrating their first.   When we found Winnie, she had a broken leg. Her veterinarian says it has mended nicely, and seems to have left her without any ill effects. She also has a partially blue eye—we aren’t sure if it is congenital, or caused by the same injury that broke her leg.   Winnie tries very hard to be good. As far as housebreaking goes, she is mostly there, and very well crate trained. She is also trained to sit, shake, and stay, though excitement tends to overcome her determination to listen.    You can apply to adopt Winnie at www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   Her adoption fee of $500 includes the transport to PA.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Winnie up north to her new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at:   newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com You can apply to adopt Winnie here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 10:00 am
