Story
Reintroducing Faro...this sweet girl came into rescue about 4 years ago. In November of 2018 she was diagnosed with cancer, but given her young age at the time (4), we opted to give her every chance and so she started chemo. She finished up in March of 2019 and has been doing great ever since; in fact, all through chemo, she never missed a beat. She has gone for routine ultrasounds and x-rays and her doctor states everything looks good. Faro has, so far, been given a second chance when we pulled her into rescue (she was slated for euthanasia), and another second chance when we decided she was worth the time and expense of chemo.....our hope now is that she can find that special person to give her yet once more chance to show what a wonderful dog she is.... Faro is very loving; she would do great as a walking buddy; loves the car and is also just as content to be a couch potato. She does well with most dogs, so a proper introduction would be a must; she ignores the cats in her foster home. We would love to have a happily ever after for this precious girl.... Faro is spayed, micro-chipped, UTD on vaccines and on heartworm preventative. If you would like to make Faro a part of your family, please contact Critter Connection at the e-mail address or the phone number listed below.

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 5/31/2022 Reason for being in rescue: Maxwell was picked up as a stray while attempting to gain entry into a business. Do you think he was looking for a job maybe?  As he was microchipped, his original owner, now living in Arizona, was contacted.  She rescued him as a puppy and had him vetted and found a home but sadly has lost track with the owner.  So Maxwell is now looking for a new home. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs?  None noted except a real desire to be loved and cared for Weight: 65 lbs est Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Maxwell loves to explore! He is looking for an  active family that wants to include him in their adventures. He has done well with dogs, large  and small, here at the rescue. He could be an only dog but would do well with another dog to pal around with. An experienced dog owner that’s home more than away would be best for this  active explorer.  What is my personality like? Maxwell is a typical gregarious, happy, laid back labrador retriever.  Maxwell has been very calm with people and dogs. He gets along well with everything.  He is eager to get out of the kennel and explore - we suspect this is how he ended up getting away from his home. Maxwell gets very excited about vehicles. He’s ready to load up and go!  Maxwell is a energetic happy boy that is looking for a running partner. He loves to run and boy is he good at it. He would enjoy it if his human companion shared his interest in running or hiking. He sleeps in a crate here at the rescue and does well with keeping it clean. It’s recommended he have one in the home as he does enjoy having a place to retreat to for a mid day nap. He has several buddies he loves to romp around with and would enjoy dog parks or going to doggy day care once he adjust to his new family and environment. Maxwell could also have another large dog in the home to play with but it is not a requirement. He is a little shy when you first meet him but warms up quickly with some treats! This boy is highly food motivated and would do great with positive reinforcement training. He enjoys puzzle toys and lick mats as well. Maxwell is such a sweetheart once you get to know him. How do I act when I first meet new people?  Maxwell has been calm and welcoming to every person that he’s met. He can be timid at first, but warms up very quickly with treats. Other tips and tidbits: Maxwell is estimated at 4 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 09/29/2018. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 5, 2024, 5:31 pm

Story
Introducing Shaydo, the young dog who absolutely loves to play with his friends. While he may not be the most remarkable dog in terms of flashy tricks or distinctive features, Shaydo's charm lies in his ability to speak the universal language of play and friendship. So, if you're looking for a faithful buddy who values togetherness above all else, look no further than Shaydo. He reminds us that sometimes, the most important thing is simply enjoying the company of good friends.

Story
My name is Blake. I am a about 2-2.5 years old and the most go-with-the-flow guy ever! I know my basic commands, and I am excellent on the leash! I never meet a stranger because I am a social butterfly and also love people. I am very social with other animals as well. I am a tolerant guy with all things. I also love to sing the songs of my fellow doggo's when I am excited. I love to let people hear my beautiful voice! * 66lbs *

Story
www.pet-tender.com/adoptionform.htm   Champion is a silly, animated pup. He is pretty shy to start but has alot to give once he knows you. He is good with other dogs, would probably not do well with children and needs a quiet home with someone able to spend a lot of time with him to gain his trust. He will be shy at first so if you are not willing to give him at least a month to start acclimating, he is not the dog for you. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He weighs about 40 pounds. We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here. March 18, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
Turbo is a big dog with a bigger personality. Turbo likes his life a certain way, which is mainly a ball to play with, a person to be with, and a nice bed to lay on. He is tolerant of other dogs, and can definitely go to a house with the right fur siblings, but he is more interested in living the calm life. His size really doesn’t match his temperament, as he is one of the calmest dogs at the shelter. It won’t take him long to catch on to your home routine, and once he has it down, your day to day life with Turbo should be very easy. He prefers calmer dogs around his size, and no small kids or animals. He is a dog that won’t change your lifestyle very much once you take him home!

Story
Hey! My name is Penny and I am looking for my forever home. My friends at the shelter describe me as calm and loving. After a short walk I am content to hop up on my bench and take a nice, long nap. I take treats gently and am very easy to leash up. For some reason I do not like cats and would need to go to a home without cats. Some dogs are ok with me but others I don`t like as much. It is hard to say if I will like my protentional dog sibling or not, but don`t worry, you can bring them by the shelter and I can decide for myself when I meet them. A more calm dog with a soft approach seems to be more up my alley. I have a lot of love to give and just want the right family to give it to!

Story
Hello! I’m Saint, a Retriever mixed breed dog. I have been described as friendly, loving, protective, adventurous, and doting. Some of my favorite things to do are bury treats and mark my territory on walks. I’m not a huge fan of toys or treats, but I love playing with people! I know the commands sit and leave it. I would like to learn more commands too! My ideal home would have dogs that are on the more gentle and dainty side because I`m just learning how to play. I`m a little shy when it comes to meeting news dogs, but I warm up quickly. I would love to go on a couple walks or runs a day too! I look forward to meeting you soon!
