Story
STEVEN  This brave canine hasn’t had it easy in life, running loose and fending for himself for about a month before he was finally rescued. Initially, he was terrified of humans, which is understandable. When we brought him home, our sweet boy immediately revealed his true nature, showing us just how special he truly is. Despite the hardships he faced, he has become the epitome of love and affection.  He adores snuggles! There is nothing he loves more than curling up in your lap for some quality cuddle time. Prepare for your heart to melt as his big, soulful eyes gaze up at you with pure adoration! To keep this clever canine entertained, all you need is a few toys and some bones. He's always up for a game of fetch or a chew session, and his goofy energy will give you regular laughs.Plus, his amazing compatibility with other dogs means he would be an excellent addition to a multi-pet household, bringing harmony and wagging tails all around. Steven is perfect in every way, from his adorable appearance to his heart of gold & will come neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He is approximately 10 months old and weighs roughly 32 pounds. He is good with kids and cats.  ##1858448##

Story
Duke was recently adopted by my in-laws who are well into their 80's and who have owned Labradors most of their lives. Unfortunately, their ability to walk and care for Duke is not the same as it once was. Duke is a loving, young and energetic dog (pup) that truly needs a younger family who can spend the time and has the energy that is required to give him the proper life. Duke loves to run around the yard and fetch balls and toys with endless energy. He does well in the house as well. As with most young dogs, he needs lots of attention and time. This breed also loves the water and Duke is no exception. Duke needs daily walks to socialize with the environment, other dogs and people to thrive. This breed can be so rewarding as a loving, protective and great family dog. Our ultimate goal is that Duke goes to the right home. We are not in any rush for anything else for him but the best. He will be missed greatly, but a new and right family would be best for him overall.

Story
Whitey was born July 5, 2020. I got her when she was about 6 weeks old from MT. She is a smart, loving dog yet still very hyper and too demanding for me at this time. All is wants is loving interaction with people; to run in a large yard and play fetch; be in a house where she can freely roam. Whitey needs little work on her manners but really is well behaved and listens well. I am leaving the area and need to find a good home for her, with lots of love and attention. She does well with medium dogs or bigger, but the tiny dogs seem to get to aggressive around her and she doesn't know how to act. She rides well in vehicles and loves to run in wide empty places. She behaves well with leash on but prefers to walk beside you without one on. Like I said she listens well and just wants to please. Whitey is in Spokane and not Rathdrum as profile says fyi

Story
Hi, I'm Oakley! I have so much love to share and loads of energy to match. My happy place is in the great outdoors where I can run and play with my favorite people and my favorite toys. I'm a loyal guy! I promise that once I get to know you, I'll love you unconditionally. I can get overwhelmed when meeting new people, especially men in hats. I learn best from strong corrections and would thrive with an owner who is eager to further my training so I can be my best self. I can't wait to find my forever home. If it could be with you, come meet me!

Story
Meet Thistle! Thistle (an orphan now part of our Crayola litter) is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information in the “Adoption from Path of Hope Rescue” section below). Thistle is a charming black mixed breed puppy with floppy ears and soulful eyes. He has started potty and crate training and will begin leash and obedience training shortly. We expect Thistle to be a medium size dog in the 40-60 lb. range. We are accepting applications now for Thistle, and he will be available to go to his new home once he has been neutered. Thistle is brand new to our rescue, and we will post more information about him as we learn more about his delightful personality! Want to meet Thistle? Fill out an application or visit our website for more information! What is Path of Hope’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family. (The process may differ slightly for long distance adopters.) Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process. Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.   Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250.  Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.   About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.   We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.   Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.   Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process. ##2146109##

Story
**DOG NOT AT KHS - CONTACT FOSTER - NUMBER BELOW**Only rarely does one encounter someone who always exudes positive energy and happiness. If you are looking for that sweet little ray of sunshine, meet Sir Wigglesworth, known to his friends as Wiggles. He is 3 years old and approx. 65lb. Being a rescue, his lineage is unknown, but he appears to be a Boston/Lab mix. He is the ray of sunshine that brightens up even the cloudiest day for those around him.Wiggles is intelligent, energetic, sweet and a super happy dog. He is trained to walk on a leash and on a treadmill. He is potty trained, kennel trained and knows all the basic commands. He loves to fetch a ball and is very good at it. He even taught himself how to play fetch alone by flinging his ball down the hill so he could chase it!Wiggles needs a clear line for rules and boundaries. Like every intelligent dog, he needs lots of engagement and interaction.Wiggles gets along with men, but absolutely loves women. He needs a home with NO cats or small children. He would do best in a home where he is not left kenneled for more than 4-6hrs at a time. He is very good in his kennel but if he stays in there too long he needs a lot more enrichment when he comes out or he will get frustrated.Wiggles gets along with most other dogs with supervision and guidance until they get to know each other . He would do best with a female dog of a similar size. Smaller or larger dogs might be OK with more introduction. He needs a tall fenced yard for safety and to get the zoomies out. He can easily jump over a 4 feet so a 6 foot fence is recommended. In general he isn't a runner but occasionally will hop over a boundary when distracted by something on the other side. His person would need to like training. Wiggles loves to learn new things and does best when he is challenged mentally. He is quite the sprinter so would be good at Flyball or agility. Once he knows you, he is affectionate and always looks for kisses and loves being close. He is currently being boarded in a volunteer's home. He was returned after a year due to a change in life circumstances for the previous owner. Londa 208 651-4806.
