Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. Sugar is about 1 yr old (DOB 9/1/23), 21” tall at the shoulder and 33’ long from base of tail to her nose. She now weighs 51#. Her fur is soft and shiny, We think she is a Lab mix…according to the vet. She is a dog needing special care because she is 100% deaf. She gets along great in life depending on other dogs to know when they’re being called for dinner, etc. She is bright and happy and she has been taught a few hand signals for commands. The most difficult part is that you can’t depend on sound to get her attention. Here are the foster’s comments about her personality and behavior: This beautiful young female, Sugar, was a stray who showed up on my acreage in the fall of 2024. Over the course of several days, I could see that she was trying to eat the bark off my trees and was starving. Over the next few days, I put out a bowl of kibble every day. Sugar was leery of my presence and I was leery of hers but I was determined to help her, to rescue her and to find her the loving forever-home I knew she deserved. As it turns out, both of our sense of hesitation was completely unfounded and, from the first day after I contained her in my fenced yard, Sugar, my five other dogs, my husband, and I became the best of friends. Personality/Behavior: * Very gentle, very loving, very peaceful, wants to please her human * Very intelligent, intuitive, interactive and responsive * Responds well to men and women equally * Got along very well with my five other dogs from the first day I found her (male Siberian Husky, male Australian Shepherd, male Pekingese, female Rat Terrier and female French Bulldog) * Intuitively knows which of my dogs she can play with and to what degree * Submissive and respectful to other dogs and people; responds to boundaries * So far, Sugar has been an outdoor dog but I believe she will make a fabulous indoor/outdoor companion in the future * Sugar only barks when she sees a stranger, a deer coming too close the fence, etc. Sugar barks for "good reasons"; she does not bark just to bark. Because she is deaf, Sugar, generally, barks at things she can see and not hear. For example, Sugar does not bark when other dogs bark, when ambulances drive by, fireworks, etc. * Learned how to sit with me using hand signals and treats * I do not know if Sugar is potty-trained because I have not let her in the house. Sugar has never gone to the bathroom in her very large partition nor on the concrete patio. Sugar has only ever gone to the bathroom in the far side of the very large fenced grassy area along with my dogs. I suspect Sugar will learn to be potty-trained very quickly if she is not potty-trained already. * Has never jumped up on people * Very well behaved, smart and has a lot of potential for further training Best Suited For: * Active family who can take Sugar on regular walks * Someone with patience who can work with a deaf dog and who is able to train Sugar to be able to live inside * Sugar is not hyperactive nor does she have the personality traits of a working breed (eg. Siberian Husky). Sugar will thrive in an environment with average activity. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. TOFU was a very lucky big dog that was discovered at ACS…and we could see he has a great loving personality. He gets along with other dogs without a problem. TOFU is 66# and DOB is 12/1/23. We consider him a Lab/Hound mix. He is happy and loves people (see picture). He is a bit over rambunctious with cats but just wanting to play. He does need training but that’s the fun part of having a dog. Please be his forever home… Give him a second chance. She is part Yellow Lab… and maybe a little Shepherd of some kind. She is confused with one ear up and one ear down :) ... maybe that’s the cross between the Lab (ears down) and Shepherd (ears up)? Regardless, it may look a little funny but with her happy personality she’ll really be the topic of conversation. She is house trained. Tandy’s story is that she was most probably dropped on my own street and she found my neighbor across the street for food and care. My neighbor called me, knowing what I do in rescue…and we took her in. She was soooo happy to get attention, good food, and a place to sleep. She loves all my other dogs, pesters the cats a little because she’s interested in them… no prey instinct there. She is friendly to all people who come over. She’ll be a great family dog…weighing 48#s. She loves to go outside and she shows to be house trained to her foster!!! Hi, my name is Yuri and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Aug 15, 2024. Not to brag, but I’m a real catch – not only do I have looks that turn heads, but my foster family says I’m also a fantastic companion. I’m fun-loving, always up for adventure, and I get along great with other dogs (did someone say “playgroup star”?). I have some serious charm. And yes, I’m as charming with people as I am with my furry friends!

Story
Dog Name: Eugenio Age: 3 years  Gender: Male Weight: 24.5 kg Size: Medium Breed: Lab Mix Primary Colors: Black/White Spayed/Neutered? Yes Vaccinated? Yes Heartworms Negative? Yes Good with dogs? Yes. Eugenio prefers gentle and kind interactions from other dogs, and his heart opens up to those dogs who show him love and understanding, he's still learning to socialize fully, and he's slightly hesitant at first toward dogs in new social dog environments who approach him with high energy level. He rather likes to get to know them at his own pace when meeting a new dog, especially with male alpha dogs. Eugenio is best with females and passive dogs.  Good with kids? Preferably adolescents as he is active and energetic when playing. He can learn with younger children which he loves.   Good with cats? No Has experience on a leash? Yes Potty trained? Yes. Proper introduction to a new house. Crate trained? Yes Where does the dog stay when it is alone? In his play area, In the kennel, and in the garden. Once he learns the routine, he can be indoors, having access to where to play and relieve himself; he's a smart boy. Where does the dog sleep? He likes the floor when it's warm, in his bed, In the kennel, and takes naps in the garden. Temperament/Personality: Eugenio, is a dynamic and charming four-legged companion who's ready to fill your life with joy and excitement!Eugenio is more than just a playful and energetic dog; he's full of character and unique personality. His love for running and exploring during his daily walks is insatiable, and each adventure is an opportunity to discover something new and thrilling. With a playful sparkle in his eyes and a tail that never stops wagging, Eugenio spreads his enthusiasm to everyone around him. His devotion to treats and affection is unmatched; every pat and every treat fills him with joy and gratitude. While he gets along well with other dogs, he's still learning to socialize fully, and his slightly shy nature at first only makes him more endearing. Eugenio prefers gentle and kind interactions. But make no mistake, Eugenio isn't just all fun and games. He also has a contemplative and observant side; he loves to sit quietly and take in the world around him, absorbing every detail with curiosity and wonder. He's in search of a loving and patient home or person where he can continue to grow and explore the world alongside his new family. If you're ready to give Eugenio the love and attention he deserves, don't hesitate to meet him today! Your life will never be the same with Eugenio by your side! What does the dog's ideal home look like? A loving home, a person who has experience with dogs, an active and stimulating home would be perfect for Eugenio, where he can fully develop and be part of a caring and attentive family. He can be an only dog or a second dog (best female).  What is the dog's rescue story?  Eugenio's journey began at a gas station, almost 2 years ago (2022) , where he was discovered in need of help and rescued by kind-hearted individuals. He has been under his rescuer care and has been under adoption since then and due to the fact, many people don’t want medium size dogs here in Mexico. Eugenio has been looking forward for a home with no luck but nevertheless he has been loved and well taken care of but Eugenio deserves a family of his own. Eugenio will do great in  the Seattle area where he can enjoy what Eugenio loves the most - outdoor activities and cuddles.  This pup is patiently waiting in Mexico for a trial commitment to make their way to WA. If you are interested, please fill out the application on our website at www.northwestwagrescue.org His adoption fee is $600 ##1743594##

You can contact us directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com, or fill out an application at either https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other  I need an active Retriever/Husky mix family home.  Phoebe is a 12 mos old 39 lb  Retriever/Husky mix.  I will do best with an active owner with a secure 6 ft fenced yard.  I am shy with new people for a few seconds then I LOVE YOU.  I like belly rubs and like to be very loving to you.  I do like other dogs, but I can be the only dog.  I will do best with someone that works from home or someone that is a caregiver and stays at home or has a securely fenced working farm where I can hang with you.  I will need continued dog training and leash training. Since I was found on the streets, just need someone to continue to work on my confidence, but I learn quick/like to please my person. No apartments or cats.   This is a courtesy post for Helotes Humane Society You can contact us directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com, or fill out and application at either https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other  All adopted pups and dogs are transported to USA and Canada families when fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. For information on how to adopt me, please contact my foster parents at info@dogdiggityrescue.com. Story
Happy baby boy just looking for his forever home. He is lovable and a big floof, has done really well with older dogs, goes outside if you’re consistent but is still learning, has learned sit, working on down and leave it and is very smart and eager to learn. He loves his toys and adores following his humans around, full of affection and kisses. Due to some unforeseen medical issues, I feel it’s best to rehome him with someone who has the energy to keep up with a puppy. He is up to date on his shots, ready for his last round on the 22nd.
