Story
Shotske came to us after his owner died with another dog. He is almost 11 years old and a long haired dachshund. Shotske is incredibly sweet, and really enjoys long strolls outside and treats. New situations and new people make him a bit nervous, but he’s still sweet and gentle, even when unsure - he will just retreat. When shotske arrived here, he was over 25lbs and experiencing some back leg/end paralysis which isn’t uncommon with aging dachshunds, especially if obese. He is now a healthy weight, runs and leaps, moderately active, and not on any medications. A new family will have to make sure his diet is strict, because he loves food and treats but needs to be normal sized to stay healthy. Shotske came to us with Pansy and can be adopted separately, but then would prefer another small dog his size that is in need of social connectedness, or to be the only dog in a home where he could be the center of attention. He is housebroken, and will go outside, but his previous owner used potty pads in the house, so if you don’t make him go outside, he won’t. He requires regular grooming and absolutely NO cats.

Story
Gabriel has a lucky story. He was abandoned by his human and was then taken in to care by some lovely humans who refused to see him wander uncared for. He is looking for a real commitment, he bonds quickly to his person. Even at his mature adult age, he would love to be with a person who is active, hikes bikes, climbs, etc. He is so attentive and is treat motivated. He has now been neutered and his dental is all done as well. He's a super healthy guy ready to go! He is heartworm negative and started on heartworm and flea prevention. He has been in a long term foster now and house training is progressing well, and he is learning with the other pets in the home about outdoor and indoor behaviors. Gabriel is a lovely pet and is going to be a great companion. Please consider this nice boy for your next best friend. Gabriel weighs 17#, he is about 9 years old, he is microchipped, vaccinated, and he is on heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $275.

Story
Sweet Luna, a gem a diamond in the rough. Here is a darling sweet girl that was found stray and taken to the shelter and no one came looking for her. Luna has come a long way and is learning trust and that there are good people and she is safe. We see her developing more confidence daily. She does some very adorable things, She likes to get ALL the toys and take them to her kennel, her safe space. But she does it when no one is looking, She is very ninja-like! Luna requires a home where people are around and they can be calm, patient and reassuring with her, while encouraging her to spread her wings and be the best girl she can be! It seems that Luna wasn't treated well and she is fearful of new people and new situations. An experienced pet owner that understands timid pets and will allow Luna to come to them as she is comfortable, will have the most success with her. We hope that others will see her beauty and charm and want to watch Luna blossom into the tremendous pet we know she can be.
