Story
Well, Katya is still growing. As a typical Maine Coon she will grow bigger for two more years. She is not, however, a typical Maine Coon. With her long ear tufts and extravagant body she is very like a group of 7 huge Maine Coons from Russia that I fostered four years ago. In her photos she looks bigger than she is but she is growing very large ( look at her paws) and she is already huge in energy and personality. Katya is a lot of cat. She clearly thinks she was born to rule continents and kingdoms. Look at her cover photo you can see how smart she is. She is hard to photograph because she is constantly moving – usually towards the photographer for asking for pets. Katya is very affectionate and loves humans but her humans need be cat savvy and pay attention. She is full of energy and rambunctiousness. She has been cooped up in too small an area for way too long and has a pent-up need for space and play and running and jumping. She has been good-natured about it but it is getting to be too long. She needs her home and humans. Do you have a spacious home to house her beauty and energy? Part of her trouble is she came into foster with her five beautiful kittens. (They are known as The Breakfast Kittens: Silver Dollar Pancake, Granola, Omelet, Oatmeal and Pumpernickel.) Mommy cats don’t like the company of other cats at all. Katya, now spayed, still doesn’t like other cats so it is hard to let her out to run about since other cats are present. She loves to roll around upside down and see if you are watching how cute she is. She is a flirt. She loves to lick and groom you. She can look stern and very wild. She loves to play and be silly. She is headstrong. She is very affectionate. She is a handful. You can see that she looks quite different in each picture. Such a fascinating kitty. Katya needs an experienced cat person, or family, who can live up to the challenge of out thinking her – or keeping up with her anyway. To fall in love with Katya is to make a life style choice that will take a lot of time and effort. This is not a sleep on the couch kitty. Do you want a kitty partner who is very exciting, smart and loyal ? Katya needs a big spacious home with no other resident cats or small children. We don’t know how she is with dogs but it is a pretty likely that she would be in charge. They may be great playmates for her. Some family will be so lucky to have her company. Katya eats wet and dry food and is litterbox-perfect. Katya is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped. She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Katya please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org. NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!

Story
Granola and Silver Dollar Pancake MUST be adopted together. There are NO exceptions. These kittens are Katya's kids known as "The Breakfast Kittens". Katya is the amazing Russian Maine Coon mom you can see posted here. Answering the call of Mother Nature she escaped out and got pregnant. Her mom said No No No and No! and left the whole young family at the local shelter. They were offered to me and I couldn't say YES ! fast enough. I was lucky enough to foster eight Russian Maine Coons some years back and knew immediately what I was seeing. I am definitely a fan of outrageous ear tufts. Katya's five kittens are wonderful. They have her intelligence and her Maine Coon playful personality. They are very beautiful kittens though none have mom's lush long coat. They are active, loving, curious mischievous kittens, four girls, and one boy. We have divided them into pairs to go home: Silver Dollar Pancake will go home with Granola, Omelete with Oatmeal, and Dimitri Pumpernickel, the boy, will go home separately. Silver Dollar, a silver-black striped tabby, is the most like her mom. She has the body lines of a ruler of the world, elegant and regal. Also like her mom she knows her worth and expects you to be respectful. Her siblings are more like goofy kids. Silver is very affectionate, at her discretion, but also watches to see if you are aware of her role, her worth. She is super smart and is thinking about you -you have to engage her attention and win her heart and then what an amazing friend she will be. Watch the video. We have paired her with her favorite sister, Granola. Granola is the most lovey and cuddly of the five kittens. She is gentle, easygoing, and good-natured, the smallest of the five. A lap cat, "Hold me" she says. Silver Dollar protects her and is especially bonded with her. These kitties are experienced being around other cats. Silver Dollar is the only alpha cat of the litter. Omelet is the most active extrovert well matched with her sister Oatmeal. The male, Dimitri ( Pumpernickel) is the biggest, with an. endless tail, the most laid back and gentle. They are all smart, social, curious, beautiful little athletes. These kitties are all good family cats. They would be fine with most respectful children and would probably have a ball playing with friendly dogs. Their photos may show them at slightly different ages. Their colors and coat patterns are still developing. Maine Coons keep growing til they are about three and a half years old. Some family will be so lucky to have their loving company. Granola is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz. We have divided them into pairs to go home: Silver Dollar Pancake will go home with Granola, Omelet with Oatmeal, and Dimitri Pumpernickel, the boy, will go home separately. Omelet and Oatmeal are very compatible sisters, confident, active, and affectionate. Smart, curious athletes, they are both very comfortable in a human's arms. Omelet who has the red ( yolk ) on her head turns herself upside down in order to put her head in your hand. All the time. She loves that. She is maybe even a little more adventurous and extroverted than her sister. You will hear the patter of their little feet thundering down your hallways. These two are born to play. Oatmeal has dramatic black stripes and leg banding. She also has the biggest ear tufts of the litter and those tufts have been growing recently. The Maine Coon genes from their mom will keep these kids growing and changing til they are well over three years. They are a work in progress. Oatmeal matches her sister's energy and is so friendly she will probably run to greet guests visiting your home. They both love attention. This litter has grown up being around other cats. Silver Dollar is the only alpha cat of the litter. The male, Dimitri ( Pumpernickel) is the biggest, with an endless tail, the most laid back and gentle. Story
These two sweet babies had a very rough start after being abandoned with several of their siblings at a local McDonalds. At only six weeks old, the tiny, discarded kittens weighing less than two pounds were left to fend for themselves. With only a few scraps of food that the workers would leave out for them every couple of days, their struggle to survive was getting desperate. In early June, the temperature outside was creeping up towards the hundreds and without being rescued, the little floofs had almost no chance of survival. That's when a Purebreds Plus volunteer heard about their plight on social media. With the help of an amazing local trapper, the volunteer was able to secure all four babies! The kittens were then transported to their foster home where their foster mom says they are blossoming into confident, social, loving kittens who crave attention. Meet McNugget, The Tiny But Mighty Dynamo! This adorable 11-week-old DMH/Maine Coon mix is packed with personality. Don't let his small size fool you – McNugget is a playful little adventurer who loves to explore and wrestle with his sibling. But when it's time to relax, he's the ultimate cuddle bug, melting hearts with his big, expressive eyes and soft meow. Nugget is a true charmer who loves to make biscuits with his paws and soak up all the attention he can get. Could you be the purr-fect match for this little lovebug? McNugget is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. He currently lives with his foster family in West Sacramento. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
