Story
We adopted him from a pet rescue 18 months ago. He is 2 1/2 years old and weighs 15 pounds, and hasn't gotten any bigger in the past year. He's a social cat, a ham, and likes to talk. He is good with our 2 granddaughters. Loves to be where ever you are. We've trained him to not use his claws or bite when he plays or gets pets. He really likes back massages. Our work schedule has taken away time that he needs. Milo is a good lap cat and loves to get his treats twice a day and will even sit up and beg for them. Milo has been kept strictly indoors for the duration we've had him, but simply has to have a window to look outside.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Jennifer (jenniferburgess54@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Online  Adoption Application Laid Back Handsome Man!Matthew in the human world would be described as the strong silent type. He is a completely laid back, gentle soul who is friends with all the other foster cats. There is no drama and no aggressiveness; he’s just a patient and kind big lovebug waiting for his forever family to claim him. Matthew likes the typical cat toys and stays primarily at floor level. He does not jump or climb very often but sometimes sleeps on a horizontal surface a little higher. He accepts petting and does not mind the occasional brushing his beautiful coat needs. He has not been dog tested but should be ok with a cat friendly canine. Older respectful children should be ok too. Mathew has a great appetite and currently eats only Purina ProPlan Sensitive Skin and Stomach. He has no issues but the foster free-feeds so that food is used because of another foster cat. His new family can easily transition him to the quality food they choose or their veterinarian recommends. He could benefit from small helpings of wet food. He is accustomed to clay litter but would probably not mind any quality litter. He really appreciates a clean, tidy box! Origin: Matthew was born outside at a house whose owner feeds stray cats. The homeowner is responsible enough to have the cats and kittens vetted but she lives close to a busy four-lane highway. When she brought Matthew in for vetting, the clinic offered to find him a rescue so he would not have to go back outside. Maine Coon Rescue was honored to be the first they contacted, and we gladly accepted him into the fold. He had a huge gray ruff at that point that looked like the fur on a winter parka. He lost it when the weather turned warmer. Although we thought it might come back later, that has not appeared but he has a nice black ruff in its place. Matthew will be happy with a family, couple or single person. He never gets ruffled or testy and seems to be unflappable. He greets the foster at the door for petting and would love to be someplace where he can get lots of attention and love. You won’t have any trouble showering him with what he craves if you are lucky enough to score this wonderful big boy! For more information, please contact Jennifer at jenniferburgess54@gmail.com. DOB (approx): 02/28/2022 Location: St. Albans, WV 25177 Available for Adoption: NOW He is eligible for adoption within a 250-mile radius of St. Albans, WV. If the adopter is willing to meet the transporter halfway there is no charge; otherwise, there is an $85 transport fee. Adoption fee: $200.00. This includes neuter, combo test (neg/neg), FVRCP and Rabies Vaccinations, wellness exam, deworming, and flea preventative. He has a microchip registered to Maine Coon Rescue; the adopter can add their contact info to the chip.   Are you interested in adopting Matthew? Please click here to submit an adoption application.   Maine Coon Rescue cannot guarantee the parentage or breed of cats on this site.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  If you cannot adopt at this time, will you please consider a donation to Maine Coon Rescue so we may continue to locate, rescue, provide veterinary care, transport, foster, and facilitate adoptions for our beloved Maine Coon and Maine Coon Mixes?

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online  Adoption Application THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. *Gypsy and Stella are a bonded pair. They MUST be adopted together.* Gypsy is a stunning girl who is the leader of this duo. She is super sweet and loving. She has two different colored eyes to capture your heart. I could look at her eyes all day! She has one ear that is folded over. I think it makes her look a little tough haha Gypsy does not like other cats except her sisfurr Stella. When Stella came home from her spay, Gypsy even growled and hissed at her because she smelled different! She quickly got over it though, and they are back to being best buddies. Gypsy will not tolerate other cats in her space. There are others that she can see and interact with, but she lets them know not to come near her. I can't tell if she is protective of Stella or just her own space. She will charge at other cats with the exception of Stella. Gypsy is great with people and loves attention. She is pretty quiet until you get ready to serve up some wet food! Gypsy likes to be petted but not necessarily picked up. I find this to be common with most Maine Coons. Gypsy currently weighs 13.8 pounds. I think she should be more like 20 pounds. I think it's because they are picky eaters. I've had some trouble finding a wet food they like. Gypsy and Stella waste a lot of wet food if they don't like it. They absolutely love Open Farm wet cat food. I find the cartons somewhat difficult to open. It's on the more expensive side as far as cost goes. It may be the only kind they'll end up eating every bite of though, which is more cost effective than not eating as much of other brands. I have some other brands of high protein wet food coming to see if they like any of it. We can discuss this further upon your application approval. I don't want you wasting time and money buying foods they won't eat. They are currently eating Purina One Dry Food. I feel the better the food, the more healthy weight Gypsy and Stella will put on. Gypsy rides perfectly in her crate while traveling. She is a great cat who usually doesn't become restless or upset by anything. She is just chill and laid back. Gypsy is neat and tidy with her litter box and doesn't fling litter everywhere. She uses a litter robot now, but I've also provided large shallow totes like you store things under a bed. They are about 6 inches deep. These make excellent litter boxes for these large cats! Gypsy uses anything provided however. She is not picky about litter. I use Tidy Cats in the litter robot and Catalyst Litter in the regular boxes. It's like a sawdust type of litter, and she uses it perfectly. She doesn't have a problem using different types or brands of litter. Are these beautiful girls the right fit for your home and heart? Submit an application today! They are fully vetted and ready to go home with you! You can view Stella's profile by clicking here. Gypsy's adoption fee is $275.00. This includes spay/neuter, FVRCP Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Combo test (neg/neg), dewormer, flea prevention, and wellness visit. There is a $25.00 discount for adopting 2 cats. The total for Stella and Gypsy would be $525.00. For more information, please contact Maine Coon Rescue at: adoption@mainecoonrescue.net. DOB (approx): 1/9/2022 Location: Mount Lookout, WV 26678 Available for Adoption: NOW If you are within about 6 hours of Mount Lookout, WV and are willing to meet halfway there is no transport fee added. Otherwise, an $85.00 transport fee will be added. Interested in adopting a Maine Coon Rescue kitty? Please click here to submit an Adoption Application.
