Story
Blue’s a 7yo 12lb Maltipoo. He’s dog and kid 10+ friendly. He needs work on housetraining but is pee pad and crate trained. He’s good with a secure fenced yard and/or going for a harnessed leashed walk with some leash work. He likes to play with toys, other dogs and cuddle with his people. He’s affectionate, cuddly, fun, energetic and smart. Blue’s foster requires he be given activities to stimulate his brain like puzzles along with people able to give leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Blue’s neutered, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Jenkintown, PA. My birthday is 1/23/15! Yes… it is rare that we know an exact birthday for a rescue pup. But Sophie was loved her entire life, a bit of a diva actually. Sophie is a Maltese-Poodle mix, (malti-poo). Her previous owner showered her with love, good food, proper vet care, toys, beds, treats and blankets too! Unfortunately she has a health issue that prevents her from keeping Sophie any longer, and she asked the shelter to find a great 2nd home for Sophie. She may be nine, but she still can hop on the bed, or couch to cuddle, she enjoys long walks (in gentle weather), and is fine on stairs, up or down. She is very healthy, and has a beautiful coat. Sophie is fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, groomed, tested, and on preventions. We hope to find a calm home, with mature active people, since Sophie has never lived with children. This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
