Story
Location: Merced, CA Handsome hunky boy Jacques is around 11 months old. He was rescued off the streets by a kind elderly lady. No microchip or owner has been found. He is a big boy at 100 lbs and just a bit too much puppy for her to keep him. Jacques is sweet, friendly, a big lump of affection, super loving and great with the 4 yr. old child in the home. He loves car rides and playing in the yard chasing tennis balls. Chew bones are the bestest! He is partially blind in one eye but that doesn't stop him. He has been wonderful with the other dog & puppies that were also rescued off the streets, that are also with the elderly finder. Kitties are unknown. Jacques would make a wonderful addition to any family with his loving disposition. Story
Meet Kali! 5-year-old Kali and her sister Kara (also available for adoption) were entrusted to our care through the Final Wish Program after their mom passed away. Kali was very loving and devoted to her mom, and with time, she will share her big heart with a new family. She enjoys playing fetch and is good with the 2-year-old granddaughter of her late owner. For the past 5 years, Kali lived with Kara, and they get along very well. They eat alongside each other without issue and share space and attention nicely. Both dogs earned high marks from the care staff where they boarded. Only a few days after becoming a Frosted Face, Kali was chosen for a two-week Frosted Fling. This will help us learn more about her in a home environment while allowing us to see how she and Kara do without the other. Happily, Kara is on a Fling getting lots of love in a home, too! Kali's fling mom shared this great first update: "Kali girl is loving her time at the Ranch! She met her pig and cow friends. We’re still not sure how we feel about cats, if they’re our friends or a toy, so for now we visit the kitties from a distance. Kali loves laying her head on your lap, that’s where she feels the safest. More updates to come when this rain stops, and we can go for walks and hikes!" Check back soon for the next update!

Story
Meet Merlin At approximately five years old, Merlin is a truly one-of-a-kind companion—a powerful yet loving blend of five different mastiff breeds. With his strong build, deep loyalty, and natural protectiveness, Merlin is the kind of dog who bonds deeply with his people and takes his job as a guardian seriously. Merlin thrives in a calm, stable home with an experienced owner who understands the unique traits of guardian breeds. While he is naturally protective, with the right slow and structured introductions, he can learn to accept new people. He would do best in a home without children and in an environment with minimal hustle and bustle—he’s not the kind of dog who enjoys a constantly changing scene. Despite his strength, Merlin has a gentle side, especially with dogs he knows. He enjoys the company of other dogs but needs low-energy canine friends due to a past orthopedic injury—so no roughhousing or hyper play. Instead, he loves calm companionship, leisurely walks, and simply being near his people. Merlin’s perfect adopter will be someone who appreciates his intelligence, independence, and loyalty, and who can provide the structure, leadership, and love he needs to thrive. If you’re looking for a faithful protector and devoted best friend, Merlin may be the dog for you! Story
COURTESY POST Hannah’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. She found herself scared and just days away from giving birth at one of California’s toughest high-kill shelters, where she and her 10 puppies were placed on the euthanasia list. But Real Good Rescue and two amazing rescue partners came together to save this brave mama. Despite losing seven of her puppies during this tough transition, Hannah’s spirit never wavered. She proved to be the most loving and dedicated mother, nurturing her babies with unwavering attention, care and play. Thanks to her, all three surviving puppies were quickly adopted into loving homes. And like most mama dogs, Hannah was overlooked. Now, it’s Hannah’s turn to find the forever home she so deeply deserves. At 75lbs and approximately 4 years old, Hannah is the perfect mix of active and chill. She’s a social butterfly who’s lived harmoniously with small dogs and even a 5-year-old child. However, her dream home would be calm, peaceful, and all about her—no other pets, just allowing Hannah to soak up all the love. Outdoors, she enjoys staying active and exploring, but indoors she’s the ultimate couch potato, ready for cuddles and naps. If you or someone you know is ready to give this incredible girl the life and love she’s been waiting for, email adopt@realgood.dog
