Story
Meet Morty! This 85 lb boy is about 2 years old and is as sweet as they come. He was not socialized much in his previous home, so he can be nervous at first in new situations, but he has come a LONG way in a short amount of time in his foster home. He has done well with every dog he's met so far and although he likes to play and wrestle, he doesn't have an extremely high energy level and will wear out relatively quickly. His foster home has been working on his obedience and he is very well housetrained. He also crates pretty well, although his previous life he spent A LOT of time in his crate, so it's not his favorite. He was not raised with his cats and is unsure of them, but has not shown any aggression. We haven't seen him much with small children, but the biggest concern would probably be him not not realizing his size and accidentally knocking them down, so sturdy kids would probably be a good idea ;) He is a sweet and loving boy looking for a home where he can be a part of a family! Morty's adoption fee is $250 and he will come fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. If you are interested in meeting this wonderful boy, please submit an adoption application today through our website - www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application

Story
We rescued Doyle from our local shelter as we suspected an obstruction. He received surgery, in which several things were found, including foam and screws. He has recovered nicely from the procedure and has gained over 20lbs! He has had no interested in eating anything other than food since his surgery. We suspect he was starved, and resorted to eating whatever he could find at the time. Doyle is delightful, friendly and low energy. He has no clue that he doesn't fit in your lap, and wants nothing more than to flop his body all over you in lovings! If you have kids, we would recommend children over the age of 10, as he is a big boy!

Story
Harry is a big, lovable derpy dog who loves everyone he meets. Harry is about 85% potty trained and he’s 100% lapdog. He doesn't know how big he is, and wears is love on the outside. He is certainly a very happy dog if he has room to move. No fault of his own, Harry has been bounced around from home to home and did a couple tours of the city shelter when we stepped in and decided to give him a chance. Harry has had very little structure in his young life and he most likely missed the window of development when dogs learn to read other dogs. So, while he absolutely loves other dogs, he has no idea how to read body language. Because of Harry's lack of socialization he tends to want humans to himself. Therefore, he does need to be the only dog in the home. Harry has some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where he gets to go most places with his people or his people are home a lot. Harry also has no idea that he’s an 95 lb dog with more weight to put on. Because of Harry's large size and inability to read personal space, he would do better with a stronger person of stature. Harry thinks he is still a puppy and can easily be unpredictable with his joy. He's basically a lovable-wrecking ball in dog form. Harry has the stubbornness of a mastiff. If he doesn't want to do something he either plays "catch the mastiff" or "dead mastiff." Both can be frustrating, but also funny if you like that kind of thing. Most of what Harry is trying to avoid is being alone. You absolutely will not find a dog with a bigger heart than Harry. But I’m not gonna lie, he is A LOT. He’s got some baggage from being bounced around. He needs structure, patience, and time. And, of course, lots of love. Are you Harry’s person? Fill out an adoption application on our website, Sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org and we will set up a time to talk about him! **Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy

Story
Belle originally came to us as an 8 week old puppy found as a stray. She was adopted and then at 14 months old because adopters had not provided any training and were started to struggle with adolescent shepherd behaviors. She is currently living in a foster home with 9 other dogs and doing well. She is high energy and likes to play hard. While she has been around children, we do not recommend small children due to her size and energy level. She is crate trained and potty trained. She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard, and someone who is committed to ongoing training. Belle is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Story
Meet Toby! Toby is all puppy a big big puppy that will push buttons test boundaries, and everyone he meets. He is a butt head but means no harm. He has learned his size can be intimidating but he's a kitten at heart. He's extremely smart and truly a great dog once he knows not to shit around. He's goofy with lots of puppy left in him. I strongly believe his goofy personality is just him catching up for the lack of experience in his first year plus of life he missed out on. Toby is great with dogs of all sizes. Truly hes sweet and a big baby. Toby needs a strong handler and not a crazy busy home with lots of visitors. ABSOLUTELY NO cats and NO children of young age. Toby makes most adults fly. He is a giant DODO. If you fear him he will smell you out and use it to intimidate you. Toby requires a confident no nonsense kind of person. With humor, nurturing but firm LOVE. Toby is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.
