Story
Say hello to Maeve!Maeve is a 2 year-old Mastiff mix who weighs 63lbs! She is a sweet, energetic girl who is looking for an active forever family! This girl is gonna want to do all types of activities with her people and can't wait to show you what a good time she is. She adores being outside on her walks and can't say no to a good tennis ball. She can be nervous in new situations and prefers a slow introduction to new places to give her the confidence to navigate the world around her. Maeve is nervous with new dogs so she would need a slow introduction to see if she'd be a good fit, but she may enjoy being the only dog in her forever home. Due to her initial sensitivity, if there are kids in her forever home, they need to be ages 13 and older. If Maeve sounds like she might be a good fit please give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext.226

Story
Poise. Demure. Elegance, Beauty, These come to mind when thinking of Ariel. Naturally shy, Ariel isn’t quick to welcome guests. She lets out a bark or two while dancing around between you and her ‘safe’ place, signifying that she is curious about you and wants to learn more about you but isn’t quite brave enough to make that leap. That said, she loves treats. She will approach with/for treats. If there is a furry friend with you, she approaches quickly as well. She loves fellow canines 😊 Once Ariel determines that you can be a fiend, she is warm, loving, happy and extroverted as can be. She will bring you toys (stuffies are her favorite, and ball) to play and share. She likes to carry them in her mouth to show them off to you. She grins from ear to ear with a wiggly butt when you give her attention and fuss over her. Ariel loves playing and running around with dogs. She can be a little vocal when playing 😊 Ariel walks well on a leash. She pulls towards the end of the walk if she knows her walk routine and that treats/food is waiting at the end of the walk. She can’t wait to get the post walk reward! She barks at dinnertime to remind you to feed her on time 😊 Ariel benefits from a slow feeder.   Ariel is 2 years old, an 80lb South African Mastiff. Ariel is looking for a home with resident dog(s) and older kids. A home with an enclosed yard is on her wish list as she loves to zip around the yard with her siblings. Outside time is her favorite 😊 Ariel is best in a quiet home as she does not like loud noises, especially people yelling at or talking loudly with each other. Ariel is a sweet, kind, and gentle soul. She hopes to build up enough confidence to be on a welcoming committee. A family who has the patience and time to get her there would be amazing

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Tilly. I'm about 7 months old and I weigh about 70 lbs already! I was dropped off here at the pound after hours, along with my brother Titan, so nobody really knows our back story or where we came from. I am a very sweet pup. I am super sweet with people and I have been great around the other dogs that I've met here at the pound. It appears that whoever had us before really didn't spend much time working with us with our training, so we will need patient families that can teach us manners and basic obedience as well as potty training. If you're looking for a big, sweet pup to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
Beautiful Tri-Pod looking for his forever!- Finn was found as a stray in East Cleveland and his leg was pretty much dead/sloughing off- he was non-weight bearing and was taken to a local Emergency Hospital for evaluation- his outlook was bleak; he would be euthanasized unless rescue stepped up and Remi's certainly made the call. We took him to our vet for another opinion and the leg was not able to be saved; it was amputed within hours. He is now fully recovered and ready to find his furever family. Finn is a wonderful young gentleman and gentle is his middle name! He takes treats gently. Don’t let those three legs fool you! He is an energetic young boy with miles to go! He loves to run and play with his foster brothers. Finn loves to play tug a war and play with squeakie toys. He is not destructive and is learning to be well mannered. Finn knows sit, No and will come when called. Finn is still learning how to walk properly on his lead but is doing much better than when he came in. Say “pen” and he goes into his pen willingly. Finn is currently working on going in and out of door manners. Sitting and waiting before released to go outside. He’s doing very well on this command. Need a couch buddy? He’s your man! Finn is very much a cuddle bug. Finn just needs a lifetime family that will continue to love and care for him. He is made to be your best friend for life!
