You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.    PLEASE NOTE: GPMR communicates primarily by email.  If you have any questions regarding one of our Mastiffs, please read their bio and if you still have questions - drop us an email at GPMastiffRescue@gmail.com.  If you have questions about our adoption procedures, please go to our page called 'Adoption Info.'  We answer email inquiries daily.    GPMR does not have a shelter. All of our dogs are kept in loving foster homes. We must have a completed adoption application on file before meeting any of our mastiffs.    GPMR adopts to the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana and parts of Colorado.  !!!Any mastiffs being adopted out of the state of Oklahoma require a health certificate to be paid for by the adopter!!!       Meet Daisy Peaches! She is a female Mastiff (or possibly mix?) who was found dumped in a neighborhood. The family who rescued her has a little girl who named Daisy Peaches and we promised we would keep her name. Daisy was very fond of her! When she was found, she had infected bite wounds on her legs, scars all over her face from previous wounds and very underweight.Daisy is super sweet.  She is free roam when home alone and other than chewing one some glasses, she has not chewed anything else. However she will gather shoes, hats, etc and piles them on the bed but nothing has been chewed.  She is housebroken, and had not had any accidents.  The Vet says she is about 18 months old.  Daisy walks well on leash, in the back yard she will venture off some when but likes to keep you in her sight, like most Mastiffs she is very Velcro. She has learned the command 'sit' and we're working on her recall now. We suspect Daisy may have been used as a bait dog from all the scars and wounds she has/had.  She is selective about which dogs she likes.  She doesn’t react to the older Mastiff in the home, but she has fought with the younger female Mastiff. They have to be kept separated as any sudden movements from that dog seem to agitate Daisy. She's definitely been through some traumatic events in her short life and she may have to be placed as an only dog in the home as a result. The good news is she seems to enjoy kids and so a home with kids 6+ would be fine. Daisy is being fostered in Shawnee, OKVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Save a Mastiff...Adopt, Foster, Volunteer!July 6, 2024, 11:32 am

This girl found herself needing home due a lot of life changes with her family that had nothing to do with Chanel. Like a typical Mastiff, Chanel is velcro and will follow you all over the house. She is very sweet and affectionate when she gets to know but is a little weary of strangers. Chanel is another one of these dogs in our current 'COVID dogs' age group. They were purchased during the pandemic and not socialized outside of the home, and thus have some 'stranger danger'. So new situations they are encountering coming into our Rescue have been stressful for some of the these dogs. With patience and decompression time, they adjust just fine to their new family but may not be social butterfly dogs, they prefer to stay at home. She would do best in an adult only home.Chanel is very sweet and affectionate. Her original family trained her and she knows all of her basic commands and is potty trained. She will sleep soundly all night in her dog bed as long as she's next to your bed and she is not a snorer. She loves to play in water and swim especially during this hot Oklahoma summer! Chanel enjoys being outdoors and exploring. She is very agile for her size and can run pretty fast for a Mastiff!Chanel's foster family has a farm and she's been good with poultry and waterfowl. She is not recommended for homes with goats and she has not been evaluated with cattle or horses. She does  geat with all other dogs both large and small. Cats are unknown. She is a great eater and not food aggressive. Chanel does not tolerate being kenneled or crated but she behaves well so it has not been an issue. She rides well and can get in the car by herself. Chanel is about 3.5 years old but her early gray face makes her look older than that. She tested negative for heartworms! She did develop a urinary tract infection and urinary incontinence but we've treated the infection and started meds for the incontinence which has improved.Chanel is being fostered in McAlester, OKVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Save a Mastiff...Adopt, Foster, Volunteer!July 6, 2024, 11:32 am

This handsome apricot boy was surrendered to GPMR when his owner was diagnosed with cancer and no longer able to keep him with the treatments she has to go through. It's obvious that she loved Koa and a very sad situation for both Koa and his owner. Koa is overall very well behaved. His foster Dad said he's one of the best behaved dogs he's had. He responds to every command and his owner had enrolled him in a training program previously - and it shows. He is a gentle boy, typical Mastiff he spends a lot of time napping. He enjoys his morning walks and really just wants to be with his people. He's used to someone being around all day so he would not be the best fit for a busy working family who is gone all day. He doesn't like to be left outside alone and will scratch the door to let you know when he's ready to come in. Koa lived with other dogs previously but we have not observed him with other dogs yet as he's the only dog in his foster home.We think Koa could sense his owner was sick as he definitely was protective of her when we met him. He would bark and rush foward growling at people who approached her. Koa was also born during COVID and with these dogs, we have seen they have not been socialized outside of their home and so they don't know how to appropriately greet strangers. This is something we're already working on with Koa and he's doing much better. Koa will require an owner with guardian breed experience as he needs a firm owner who is not going to allow this inappropriate behavior. He responds extremely well when verbally corrected. Since we don't have any history of Koa with children, we would prefer an adult only home for him. Koa's vet visit went really well. He is heartworm negative! He does have a small skin lump like many Mastiffs get, but the vet wasn't concerned and said it can be monitored and if it starts growing or changing, he could have surgery to remove it. He's a healthy boy!Koa is being fostered in Amarillo, TX.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Save a Mastiff...Adopt, Foster, Volunteer!July 6, 2024, 11:32 am

She was dumped near a farm and rescued after multiple attempts by the property owners to run her off the farm. She kept going back! Unfortunately she was chasing the cattle so not welcome to stay there :) Since being in rescue, she has shown us her big personality.  Phyllis is incredibly smart, she's responsive to positive reinforcement and verbal correction.  She may not have not learned social skills and manners in her previous life, but she is so eager and quick to learn.  She has come a long way in short time and will continue to improve in a home that has consistency and boundaries.  Phyllis is very curious, undoubtably secondary to her intelligence, so she has been crated while alone.  Otherwise she'll find things to chew on that she shouldn't. She crates well but does whine a bit if she sees you and knows she could be with you instead.  Phyllis enjoys walks and has been learning to heel.  She was slowly introduced to her foster brother by joining him on walks for several days in a row before interacting with him.  It took Phyllis about a week to warm up to her foster brother, but now they get along just fine, without issue.  She does want to be the alpha, but that's fine with the passive resident dog. She can only be placed with a submissive dog who doesn't mind her bossiness. We suspect that Phyllis may have had to struggle for food, she has displayed some resource guarding behavior and has been grumpy if she thinks she has to compete for her food.  We hope this will go away as she feels more secure in daily meals, but until then, we advise that she be fed alone and counters kept clear of food for potential surfing, so she knows what is hers, and what belongs to the people.  Phyllis is a gorgeous and healthy young mastiff.  She has the intelligence and potential to be a wonderful companion to a human that is committed to continuing her basic obedience.  She requires an owner with experience and is not recommended for a first time Mastiff owner. We will be requiring her adopters to enroll her in either at home training or a basic obedience class, to help ensure a successful transition. She is not recommended for homes with kids or cats. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Save a Mastiff...Adopt, Foster, Volunteer!July 6, 2024, 11:32 am
