Hello! My name is Jake!I came into the Guelph Humane Society in June very scared and under-socialized. My GHS friends have been working very hard to help me learn that the world isn't so scary. MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: No, I'm looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: Potentially, my experience with other dogs is limited but I could benefit from having a confident, easy-going dog to learn from.CATS: Potentially, with cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I am looking for a family that has lots of dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my fearful nature.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Just in the beginning while I adjust.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: No, I will need some patience with house-training.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the "adopt me" button to apply!

MORE PHOTOS/VIDEOS: https://www.facebook.com/TLCRR https://www.instagram.com/taffyslegacycaninerescue https://www.taffyslegacy.com/koopa Koopa is currently being fostered in a detached home with 2 canine foster siblings. Koopa is house and crate trained. Koopa is a BIG BOY, and often doesn't quite understand that he is stronger than others, but he is doing very well with his training and loves to please his people. Koopa is very happy go lucky and playful with his canine friends, however he can make poor choices when adrenalized and does best with calm proper introductions. Koopa has had an incident with one other dog who was jumping up where he overcorrected, resulting in that dog needing stitches. With his friends, Koopa is fun and playful, and does well with supervised play with other well-balanced dogs. He doesn't always understand his size, and does play rough, so he would be best suited playing with other large breed confident dogs, as he can intimate more nervous or reserved dogs with his big size and big play style. He has shown some prey drive for smaller dogs, and would do best sticking to his bigger companions. We have not cat tested, but at this time with his size and prey drive we are looking for a home without cats. Koopa is a big loveable goofball and loves all people. He does well meeting new people and is a patio favourite hanging out with his foster mom and her girlfriends in public social settings. He has had one incident of grabbing a staff members coat and playing tug of war which caused it to rip - due to this he is looking for a home without kids or with older kids. Koopa is very food motivated and loves training, and has been going to a group training class weekly since his intake. He is doing very well, knows his markers, and continues to work on training daily with the kennel staff! Koopa is playful at the kennel, however he is a lower energy boy and has some hip/elbow issues that prevent him from participating in longer walks. He is looking for a lower energy home that can continue conditioning calmness and give him lots of puzzle toys and satisfy his mental energy. He is currently taking a glucosamine supplement. His perfect home would have power breed experience. Fun facts about Koopa: -This big guy is happy to be with and please his person! He loves to chew on wood and play in the sprinkler. He is hesitant to get into the bath tub but once he is in there, he is happy to get the attention and be scrubbed with soap and water! Koopa loves going for car rides but I have recently noticed that jumping into the back of the Jeep has been a struggle some days. I tend to get him to get his front paws up and lift his back end to help out. -Koopa likes to take shoes out of the closet and bring them to me but will never chew on or destroy. Likes to play with circle shaped foods before he eats. Needs work: Koopa is a big puppy in a full adult sized body! He can be easily overstimulated and always wants to be part of the fun! He would benefit from conditioning calmness and place exercises, as well as working on his crate training and leash skills. High prey drive in adrenalized situations. Koopa's foster mom works hard to manage his environment, facilitate proper introductions with trusted dogs and supervise play with his canine friends. Koopa is also working on puppy nipping - and uses marker language to get the point across that the behavior is unacceptable. Here is what Koopa's foster mom has to say about him: "Koopa is an absolute joy to have around. His goofy, owner pleasing personality makes him great to train and build an outstanding relationship with. He loves to be around people in new and familiar environments and receive all the attention. This big guy doesn't require a lot of exercise to tire him out and is very well at settling down in his crate or on his dog bed for some rest and relaxation. He loves to chew on his wood log or indulge in his licky mat when his Foster Mom makes him one. If I had more room and didn't already have two dogs, Koopa would be my first #fosterfail. He is truly a big treat!" ADOPTION PROCESS: taffyslegacy.com/adoption-process

**IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** For Adoption: Ronan! Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. To apply for adoption and for more information on our process and requirements, visit our website at https://pounddog.ca/adoption-info/. Introducing Ronan, the Mastiff X puppy that is sure to wiggle his way into your heart. At 5 months old, this confident, sincere, and intelligent boy is going to bring many years of joyful laughter and sweet snuggles to one very lucky home. Ronan is 55lbs currently and growing. We expect he will be 70lbs plus when fully grown, so a solidly built large dog. With his gorgeous light eyes and distinctive markings, Ronan is one of the prettiest boys you will ever meet. He is so pretty in fact that at first glance we all thought he was a girl when we rescued him from the pound in Hamilton. Alas, this boisterous, beautiful boy has so much to offer. Ronan is an endlessly sweet soul. Morning, afternoon, or night, he adores any opportunity to nestle against you and receive love. Ronan is also proving incredibly intelligent. He has mastered commands like ‘sit’ & ‘focus’ with ease and is fine-tuning his ‘down’ & ‘heel’ commands. He is now officially house trained, although his fosters are still diligent about taking him outside for frequent potty breaks to maintain his accident-free streak. Ronan knows where all the treats are kept, always remembers where he saw a squirrel on his last walk, and has mastered the big step into the car to tag along for adventures. He adores dogs and people alike so Ronan would do great in a home with another playful energetic dog, but would be fine in a home as an only dog as well, as long as there is enough love & stimulation around from his people. Ronan has shown a high prey drive with birds, bunnies, & squirrels so we are looking for a home with no small animals. Because he is a Mastiff X, we’re looking for adopters with large breed experience who are familiar with the diligence and consistency needed to help large dogs thrive. Ronan is also very energetic and would do best in a home where he has access to outdoor space and daily walks. He currently enjoys two 30+ minute walks a day and a gentle late evening stroll before bed time. Ronan happily goes as far as you’re willing to walk him, sniffing and scouting and (somehow) always having a poop ready to go for every walk. He will be an excellent adventure buddy for an active home! Ronan has so many cute quirks that will keep his adopters in absolute stitches. He throws himself with joyful, reckless abandon from anything he’s jumping off (the bed, the edge of the deck, the stairs), seeming to strike a pose in midair as he flies. He bounces to his crate when he sees his bowl, springing 16” in the air with joyful anticipation of his beloved meal. He has the happiest little helicopter tail when he’s overflowing with love & excitement (which is often). As you can see, JOY is a theme with this incredibly cute puppy who will grow into a gentle giant. He always seems to have a smile on his face and is happy to dole out kisses whenever you’ll receive them. All of these cute quirks & amazing traits aside, Ronan is still a puppy and he is also working on a few things. House-training will need continued diligence to maintain. Ronan is crate trained but still finds it hard to settle occasionally, fussing for usually about 5 minutes before flopping down. He’s is not immune to the puppy propensity to bite and chomp, so he’ll also need help remembering toys are for playing but fingers/hands are not. He is in the full swing of puppy curiosity so he is also experiencing the world through his mouth, which means he’s often finding things in his mouth that don’t belong there like socks and pillows and shoes. He has also shown some resource guarding behavior around high-value treats, grumbling or snarling at his foster brother if he stares too long or comes too close to the crate. Overall, he will need someone committed to patiently & consistently reminding him what is and is not allowed as he grows, as well as supporting him to feel secure & loved. Ronan loves all people but is a bit too puppyish and big for a home with small children. He doesn’t know his size and can get mouthy when over stimulated so a home with children over the age of 8yrs would be best for him. If Ronan sounds like a dream, that’s because he truly is. Ronan is both sweet and soulful in the most captivating ways and he has so much love to offer. Ronan is eagerly awaiting the moment when he gets to say, “I found my family!” and give his love completely, forever. Get your applications in for the sweetest rescue dog, Ronan! He can’t wait to meet you! #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #rescuedog #adoptdontshop #pounddogs #pdr12years #pounddogrescue12yearsstrong Name: Ronan ID # PDR2080 Age: 5mths Gender: male Neutered: yes UTD vaccines: yes Breed: Mastiff x Colours: brown Coat length: short House trained: yes Special needs: no OK with kids: older OK with cats: no Ok with dogs: yes Status: adoptable Microchip: yes Size: large Location: Cambridge Adoption fee: $900
