Story
Hello! My name is Jake!I came into the Guelph Humane Society in June 2024 very scared and under-socialized. My GHS friends and foster parents have been working very hard to help me learn that the world isn`t so scary. Once I warm up, I will greet you by wiggling my head and shoulders with a big goofy smile. I enjoy playing with my toys, napping on soft blankets as well as exploring outdoors in the yard and on leash in the neighborhood near my foster home. My curious nature is helping me to overcome many of my fears and I am feeling more confident in familiar surroundings every day!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok, no young children given my sensitive nature.OTHER DOGS: No, unfortunately I don`t have much experience with dogs and am not very comfortable with them.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I am looking for a family that has dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my fearful nature.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily. I do well left for long periods!SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes!If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!

Story
Name: CharlieBreed: Mastiff MixAge: 6 yearsGender: FemaleSize: Large, 40 kgAbout Charlie: Charlie is a friendly, affectionate Mastiff mix who loves being around people. At 6 years old, she’s calm but still enjoys her daily walks. While she’s great with humans, she’s not a fan of small animals, so she would do best as the only pet in the home. Her easy-going nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving and loyal dog.Ideal Home: Charlie would be happiest in a home without other pets, especially small animals. She’d do well with an active family or individual who can give her plenty of attention and daily exercise. A home with space for her to stretch her legs would be ideal.Training and Skills: Charlie is well-behaved on walks and knows basic commands. She’s housebroken and enjoys spending time with her people.Favourites: Charlie loves walks and spending time with her family. She’s happiest when she’s getting attention and affection.Dislikes: Charlie prefers to be the only pet, as she’s not fond of small animals.Adoption Fee:Dog adoption $495.00- This includes vaccinations, microchipping, and spayHow to Adopt: If you`re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughlin Road, Lindsay, Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am-6 pm, contact us by email info@hskl.ca or phone at 705-878-4618.
