Story
Toby Teeth is a 3-year-6-month old Miniature Pinscher weighing 13 pounds. He came to the shelter as a stray so his history is unknown. Adopter required to have breed knowledge/experience. Toby Teeth is a character, he has a big personality! He's affectionate on his terms, he'll jump right in your lap and give you hugs & kisses! Does not like to be picked up-don't even try until you've earned his trust!! We believe he has past trauma that has given him some trust issues and he's a typical Min Pin!. A slow approach is needed, he does not like hands above his head or on his chest. He loves treats and knows the command sit. Resource guarding with toys-will not share and DO NOT try to take it from him. Suspected separation anxiety. He has lots of energy and loves walks. Good on a leash. Loves car rides and rides well with a seat belt.Miniature Pinschers are for experienced dog owners. The Miniature Pinscher is an assertive, outgoing, active, and independent breed. Miniature pinschers are energetic and need a fenced yard to run in; they make great agility dogs. They are great escape artists and some recommend having a kennel with a lid on it for them to run around in. They are good watchdogs, as they are alert and wary of strangers. They can easily alert their owners of someone's presence, their happiness or their loneliness with their frequent high-pitched bark. It is recommended that adults and teenagers, rather than young children, play with a Miniature Pinscher as younger children play rough. Miniature Pinschers are a stubborn breed when it comes to training, but once trained they will obey commands well. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today!
