Story
Scrappy lived outside with several other dogs for a while.  He never knew where his next meal would come from.  This makes taking Scrappy for walks extra fun!  Is he going to slurp up that earthworm?  … More than likely.  Is he going to pluck a cicada from the depths of a bush and devour it?  You Betcha!  Hakuna Matata!  Scrappy is a big personality VELCRO dog – he is always with his person.  He does well with all the other pets and humans in his foster home, although he will occasionally bark at foster dad, especially when he sings.  He doesn’t really play with the other dogs in his foster home but enjoys playing with his person.  He can be demanding when he wants something and will paw at his person for attention.  He's a fun little guy that keeps his foster family laughing at his antics.   He is very treat motivated, and since he’s been in his foster home, he’s learned several commands including Kennel Up, Sit, Paw, Shake, Paws Up, and he’s working on more!  Scrappy is about 20 lbs., and breed guess is Red Miniature Pincer mix.  We think he’s about 2–3-year-old, and unfortunately, he will need to be on meds for the rest of his life because of heart worm infection.  His adoption fee is waived for this reason, although we request a contribution in consideration of the care we have provided him.  He’s got a lot of spunk and loves life.  He is house trained and uses a dog door independently, he is neutered and up to date on vaccines.  He will need a home where he has regular access to go potty due to his meds that make him drink a lot of water, whether it's a dog door or someone that isn't away from home more than a few hours at a time.  If you would like to learn more or to meet/adopt this friendly boy click here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
I'm looking to rehome these two sisters who are bonded and need to stay together. My mother went into a nursing home and I am trying to rehome her dogs. They are very sweet with humans and submissive with humans but they can be aggressive when it comes to cats.

Story
Roscoe is quite the hunk of love and half &#34derp&#34 (that&#39s a term of endearment) ~Super sweet, kinda shy, loves dogs of all sizes ~House and crate trained ~11 year old min-pin mix ~Has epilepsy, but he&#39s well maintained on phenobarbital twice a day and that is working great. We&#39ve worked with our vets to ensure he&#39s getting the best care and treatment. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org/adoption-application) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet.
