Location: Calgary, AB.
Viggo, a 1.5-year-old, 7-pound miniature poodle, is seeking a patient and loving forever home. This sweet boy is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and is ready to offer a lifetime of companionship. However, his shy nature requires a special understanding. Viggo is a truly special dog and requires a very special home. He's incredibly shy and will need time and patience to fully adjust to his new family. Because of his shy nature, a home with children under the age of 10 is not recommended. His ideal environment includes another dog – he thrives on canine companionship, happily following the lead of his confident canine pals. He's shown no issues with cats.
While he loves to play chase with his foster siblings and enjoys a good playtime with his toys, Viggo has medium energy levels, making him a manageable companion. He is still learning to trust and walk on a leash, so a patient owner who will work at his pace is needed. House training is ongoing, and he sleeps soundly overnight in his crate. During the day he prefers to be free-roaming.
Viggo's a miniature poodle, which means he requires regular grooming to keep his beautiful coat looking its best. He also recently had some teeth removed, highlighting the need for regular dental care for this breed. Car rides currently cause him some discomfort, so pre-ride anti-nausea medication is needed.
A home with prior Poodle experience would be ideal, as this breed has unique grooming and care requirements. Above all, Viggo needs a patient, understanding family who can offer him the time and space he needs to build trust and settle into his new home.
