Kobe is a longtimer in our rescue, and we couldn't tell you why?! We rescued him from a pretty terrible situation 3 years ago. He lived on a 25lb chain, outside, in the Arizona climate for his entire life. He's one of the sweetest and most affectionate, snuggly dogs in our rescue! He's good with dogs and people. Does well on a leash and is great in public! He's a small 20lbs, light enough to carry around like a koala bear! He does great with other dogs. He has been a resource guarder in the past, but we have worked through the vast majority of that habit. It most commonly involved him grabbing something hanging off the counter, or snatching something out of the trash, only lashing out if you went to physically pull him away from the object. He would snap but never would break the skin. It's only enough to give someone a little scare. It's a seamless process for us, however, his adopter will need to be willing to learn the protocols we use to keep everyone safe! We do not adopt any of our dogs out to people with young children (under 15), for the safety of our dogs. Not good with cats. Elliot is an endearing dog who came to us as a stray. He was in very rough condition when he arrived. While we were able to clean him up and groom him and have him treated by our veterinarian, Elliot did suffer some permanent damage to his eyes. He sees fairly well although we feel he probably has some minor vision loss due to his neglect. He is a young boy believed to be about three years old. He will need eye drops daily to keep his eyes from deteriorating further as they get very dry. Other than that, he is a healthy boy who needs lots of love and kindness. He will become very devoted to you and give you back as much as you give him, probably more. We believe he was raised as an only dog as he is socially uncertain about how to deal with other dogs, but he would do OK with another dog that was gentle with him. We feel that Elliot will blossom in a home and become a happier and more playful companion, but he does have some learning to do. He likes to go for walks and he walks well on a leash and does not pull. Like many of our rescued dogs we are not sure how well house trained Elliot is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. He is very eager to please. Bella is a beautiful Maltipoo girl who came to the rescue for medical care. She had been hit by a car and broke her leg and pelvis. The best thing to do for her was to remove her hind leg to allow her pelvis to fully heal. She is even more amazing with 3 legs and she gets around fabulously. She is very shy having not had much socialization outside of her original home. She is kind though and ADORES children. She is approximately 14 lbs and she is 3 years old. Kash could be possibly described as a dignified clown. Or possibly one of those boys who never grows up. Like Peter Pan? He is an absolute doll. He's sweet and loving, funny and playful, loving and snuggly. He came to us as a found dog. He was microchipped and his owners denied owning him. His mouth was full of rotted teeth. Every one of them had to be pulled (He still eats dry food!) he was extremely matted as well. He deserves so much better. He's such a good boy and will fit well into almost any home.
