Story
Ready For His Forever Home! Waldo was issued his final plea at the Palmdale shelter in August 2023, just before we were able to welcome him here. The shelter listed his age at 4, but it was soon discovered he had baby teeth, so his estimated age is somewhere around a year. After arriving here, it was noticed he was not tracking toys when people were playing with him. After many vet visits, it was confirmed that he had some serious issues with his sight. He recently had surgery to reattach both retinas, and he is doing great. He will, however, always be farsighted, so he will need an understanding adopter who will help him navigate life this way. Waldo is silly, loves playing with other dogs, and is quite affectionate. Due to his farsightedness, we think it would be best if he were placed in a home with older kids or an adult-only home. You can see more of Waldo on our Instagram page; @thebrittanyfoundation. The Brittany Foundation is a nonprofit 501c3 dog rescue and sanctuary in Agua Dulce (Santa Clarita), CA, that was started in 1994. Our goal for every dog we rescue is to find a loving forever home, but they have a home here with us for as long as they need it.

Story
Pearl is an amazing little dog with a great personality. She loves to be near her humans and will be a fabulous companion for anyone. She's moderately active so a home with kids or other dogs is ideal for her. Pearl was at the shelter with a bad cherry eye and huge bladder stones. The stones were removed, but We are still waiting for their results to determine if she needs to eat special food for life.   Pearl is mostly house trained but her bladder stones caused some set backs and she occasionally uses potty pads. She is create trained and knows basic manners.  This is an amazing dog!    Thank you for wanting to adopt from Hank's Legacy Foundation. Story
Please contact Isabell (pawparent@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Sansa was a stray on the streets of Lancaster and brought to the Lancaster shelter with a terribly matted coat. Poor guy must have been in so much discomfort. The shelter staff bathed and groomed him, but nobody wanted to adopt him so Paw Parent welcomed him. He is very happy here and gets along great with all the dogs. He is afraid when we try to put a leash on him, he must have had bad experiences from living on the streets. He also hates being groomed, his matted coat when he was found probably caused him so much pain and he might have been also terribly abused by people that he will show you his teeth when you approach with scissors. We give him Benadryl before taking him to the groomer to calm him down a bit. He also needs to be taught not to pee in the house. Otherwise is very quiet and mellow and does not cause any trouble. He is around 9 years old and weighs 15 pounds. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and ready for his new forever home. Could it be yours? Please call 661-724-0642 or email us at pawparent@gmail.com if you would like to meet him.January 23, 2025, 2:05 pm

Story
Thirteen-year-old Buster is a very energetic dog for his age. This 10-pound poodle loves walks and enjoys attention but at the same time likes to have his space. Buster is playful and does well with other dogs, but he doesn't like other dogs to play rough with him. Buster prefers being inside the house with his family; he goes outside to go on walks or to do his business in the yard. Buster doesn't really bark much unless he is startled or if other dogs are rough playing with him, but he also occasionally barks when he is being playful himself. Buster sleeps quietly through the night inside a crate. Buster has mature cataracts, so his vision is significantly impaired. He sees shadows during the day and can maneuver throughout his foster home without bumping into anything, but at night, he does bump into things. Because of his disability, Buster will require patience while he adjusts to a new home and learns to trust his new person.
