Story
If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.  Hi, my name is Marjorie! I am a 1 year old toy poodle. When I came to ARPO, I had an old fracture on my right front leg that had started healing misaligned. Because my legs are already so small the best option, for life without chronic pain, was to amputate. Don't worry, I'm getting around great now without that ouchy leg! I love to play with stuffed toys (even the ones that are the same size as me)! But I also love to snuggle!  I've been living in my foster home with cats, kittens, and a large dog. I get along pretty well with everyone, though I do like to chase the cats to try to get them to play with me! I would love to find a home with someone who is home a lot and maybe with another small dog to play with!  Marjorie is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on vaccines. She will require regular (every 4-6 weeks) grooming. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. Story
Uno would do best as an only dog or with a submissive dog due to his energy and love of claiming his toys. He is missing an eye because he got into an altercation with a big dog that didn't like his attitude! He is crate trained and potties outside, but he does mark in the house with other males dogs present. he wears a belly band with no issues. Leash skills have improved and we just step away from dogs on the walk and redirect him. He could be leashed walked and be an only dog. He can coexist with other dogs with management of toys. He eats in his crate. If you have a fence with dogs on the other side, will take him awhile to get used to them without acting a fool. He is a fantastic companion in the right home. He is loving and loves affections. His behaviors of wanting to be King can be managed by experience pet owner. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs.
