Story
Lambie is around 10 years of age. She is a poodle mix. She was being kept outside in the extreme heat as well as being starved. A good Samaritan tried to help her and the owners ended up surrendering her. We tracked some records back and found out that she was lost 6 months ago and ended up at the local shelter where her owners reclaimed her from. The picture seen at the shelter looks like a different dog. 6 months later and she was a ragged mess with such extreme matting, her hair had to be shaved to the skin line. She is under 13 lbs when we took her into the rescue. She is emaciated at this weight and you can see all of her ribs, spine, hip bones. She appears to be completely blind and cataracts were the cause according to the records. Overall the vet thought she was in fairly good health according to blood and testing. I do not know what happened for this little girl to go from a loving family member being well cared for to an emaciated neglected blind dog. She is now going to receive the care she needs and the love she deserves. She is mellow and loves to be pet and give kisses. She likes dogs and cats and wags her tail when they are near. Adoption fee is $150 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years therefore beagles under 3 years of age will not be adopted to anyone over the age of 62 For more information or to submit an adoption application, please visit our website at http://www.southernnevadabeaglerescue.com . We are also on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SouthernNevadaBeagleRescueFoundation . Come meet and play with our available dogs at Las Vegas area dog parks. Times and locations can be found at http://www.meetup.com/beagles-207/ . Contact us or check our Facebook updates ahead of time if you are interested in meeting a particular dog. All our dogs are in foster homes so not all are available to attend all our park meetups. Our meetup group playdates allow you to socialize your beagle with his/her own breed at dog parks with large fenced areas where the beagles can run and play off-leash.
