Story
Bear is a rare color Brown and tan Pomeranian from champion lines.. he was purchased on puppyspot for 3500.00 from long time breeders from Oklahoma. He was born Oct 22 2023, He needs his last distemper and Rabies shot.. they were delayed because on his ride up here he caught kennel cough and i had to treat him and my other two older Pomeranians, with antibiotics and steroids (they caught it from him) . He is not yet neutered. Sadly, in this time, I was in a serious car accident.and out of work, dealing with health issues. In addition, I didn't fully realize just how challenging it is, to have two 12 year dogs (Pomeranians) and a new puppy. Im just not able to handle it all. Im heartbroken, as is my 16 year old daughter (Im also a single mom) because Bear is very, very lovable, Beautiful..boy. He needs an owner that can be devoted to him and give him the , time and focus .. he so deserves. Firstly, We want to find him a good home.. and ideally, recoup some of what was paid ..

If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/. Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about within an hour of Wilmington, DE for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit Meet Blackberry! Blackberry is a 10-year-old, 10 lb mini Poodle mix who was surrendered by his owner. He had been sadly neglected and it was time for a new beginning. Blackberry was brought into our care and immediately received a sedated shave and was neutered. It was discovered that one of his eyes was missing, and the other one was so damaged, it had to be removed. Although Blackberry is deaf as well as blind, he doesn’t miss a trick. This amazing pup can wake from a sound sleep, sniff his way across the room, and jump on the sofa to find his foster mom eating cereal without him! Blackberry is very close to being housebroken. He will wear diapers, but only if he needs to be alone for several hours. He hasn’t had any accidents. Blackberry can’t do stairs, but very quickly learned where the front door is and how to step down out of the house. Blackberry doesn’t require any monthly prescription medications but will take Trazadone on occasion when he needs to be alone for several hours to avoid separation anxiety. Due to being both blind and deaf, he would be happiest to have an owner who is home most of the time. He likes to know his people are near and will cry out if he feels lost. Blackberry gets along well with other dogs but doesn’t like cats. He would do best in an adult-only home or with children that know how to be gentle. Blackberry walks on a leash but tends to criss cross and would be happier with a fenced-in yard. Blackberry is a super sweet pup who enjoys greeting people. He loves to have his belly rubbed, get picked up, and enjoys lots of cuddles. He happily sleeps in bed with his foster mom and is a certified couch potato. If you need an adorable, furry friend to keep you company and make you smile, please apply today!

Story
Meet Cookie. She is one of the poodles we rescued from the puppy mill back in January. Cookie is 6 years old, and she weighs 12 lbs. She was a mill momma most of her life. When she came to our rescue, she was really shut down and scared. She is still working on trusting humans. She will sit on the fosters lap and let her pet her for a little bit before she jumps off (which is progress). She absolutely loves dogs of all sizes. She went to the vet and was tested for hw and Lymes disease and was negative! She did have an ear infection that was treated with antibiotic ear drops. She also received her updated vaccines. She was spayed and had dental work done to remove all of her infected teeth. Cookies perfect home would have to have another dog that way, she can learn from them that not all humans are bad. We don't know what all happened to this sweet dog. We did everything we can for her and now we hope that there is someone out there for her that has patience and understanding that it will take some time for her to learn to trust her new family. If you are interested in adopting her, please send us a message or fill out an application.

Story
Meet Pearl: The Sweet little Poodle Girl Looking for Her Forever Home! Pearl is an approx 4-year-old mini Poodle with a heart full of love and a story of resilience. This former breeding mama is now spayed and up to date on all her vaccines, ready to embark on a new chapter of her life. Pearl is dog-friendly and absolutely adores her foster siblings. While she's still taking her time to warm up to her human housemates, her gentle nature and sweet personality shine through.  She is fearful of humans at first but learns to trust with time. She is playful and enjoys her foster fur siblings! She isn't house trained yet and will require a patient family to help her learn the ropes. Since she's not ready for leash training, a home with a fenced-in yard is essential for her to explore and play safely as well as another friendly dog in home  Pearl is looking for a loving, patient family who can provide her with the security and affection she deserves. If you think your home could be Pearl's forever home, she can’t wait to meet you! If you are interested in Pearl, please apply https://peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/adoption-application/ ##2116366##
