Story
Meet MARSHMALLOW, a darling little girl who is every bit as sweet and fluffy as her name suggests. Marshmallow is about 18 months old and fully grown at just 15 pounds. She is a poodle mix, probably a Poodle/Bichon cross or Poodle/Havanese cross. She came to us from a hoarding/backyard breeder case where we're told they were breeding Havapoos, Cavapoos and Poochons. Marshmallow is a friendly little girl with a sweet disposition. She's slightly timid when meeting new people but easily be won over with yummy treats. She walks well on a leash and is a perfect passenger in the car. Marshmallow has never known life as an only dog and is very playful. She MUST go to a home with another playful dog. Marshmallow's coat is currently a bit overgrown and messy, she is a dog who MUST be groomed regularly. Her adopter should be prepared for this expense every 6 weeks or so. In order to complete all of the vetting covered by Marshmallow's adoption fee, she must go to a home in the Greater Cincinnati area. No exceptions. If you're outside the tristate area and you apply, we may not even bother to send you a rejection email. If you would like to meet Marshmallow and give her the loving home she deserves, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to schedule a private meet with an APPROVED adopter. Please don't expect to show up at an adoption event and meet her THEN put in an application. Odds are you will be too late. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee. How adorable is RUFFLES?! She's a darling 4 month old 10 pound puppy looking for a home. Ruffles came to us from the same hoarding/breeding situation as Marshmallow and Shaggy. We understand they were breeding Cavapoos, Havapoos and Poochons on the property. We have no idea if Ruffles is related in any way to Marshmallow and Shaggy as those two cuties have curlier coats. We're calling her a poodle mix but honestly the only thing we know for sure is she's cute cute cute. Ruffles was timid when she arrived but she has blossomed in her foster home, running and playing with her foster sibling. She's a well-behaved girl who is a perfect angel at bath time and is unbothered by nail trims and getting her toofers brushed. We expect her to remain small when fully grown, maybe 15 pounds give or take a few? Ruffles has never known life as an only dog and must go to a home with another friendly playful dog. Ruffles must go to a home in the greater Cincinnati area in order to complete the vetting covered by her adoption fee. Ruffles' soft fluffy coat will require regular grooming, probably every 6-8 weeks. Her adopter should plan for that expense. Meet Leo! He is an 8 year old poodle mix weighing 12 lbs. This bouncy boy is an absolute doll and joy to foster. He loves everyone he meets. Another great love... toys! Leo carts his toys from room to room and if it’s a nice day, he’s carting them into the yard, EVERY ONE OF THEM! Not much is known about Leo before he entered rescue, but what a great break for this kid to catch. SRC took in Leo this past winter after he was found out on his own. He is now utd on all vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative, chipped, and had a dental. It took him a bit to settle and come out of his shell, but with all that baggage behind him, he is thriving! He is a quick learner and loves to cuddle and please. He is housebroken and crate trained, but does not require one. He loves spending time in the yard and loves the companionship of other dogs. His best fit would be a home with another dog and a fenced yard. He would also do best with older children as he does tend to bark at younger children. I do think they make him nervous.
