Courtesy Listing - Atticus is not an AHGRR dog, but his adoption fee will be donated to AHGRR 5 year old Atticus is a sweet ball of energy. Atticus loves people, but can be a very irritating playmate for other dogs....which can lead to a squabble. We think Atticus would actually prefer being an "only furchild".Atticus is 100% crate trained, mostly house trained, neutered, vaccinated with core vaccines, and heartworm negative and on preventative, Atticus has suffered some minor hair loss as the result of a grooming accident. He's a great little dog who is looking for a home through absolutely no fault of his own, If you would like to offer Atticus a home, please submit an application which you can find on our website (www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org)

Story
Cooper is an 11 year old toy poodle, who loves naps, treats, and cuddling. He can be sassy at times, and can be timid with new people, but when he warms up to you he will be attached to you at the hip! He’s quite shy and rather quiet, but he always likes to be around someone as he can get anxious being alone for too long. He has trouble chewing tough food, so wet food is best. Though he loves being at home with family, he doesn’t always want to be pet/touched excessively. When we first got him 5 years ago, his previous owners were unable to potty train him so he does wear a diaper when in the house. We are hoping to find a loving and patient family looking for a cute companion!

Story
Meet Ringo! This dapper little guy came to us through one of our vet partners after being surrendered by his owner. It was clear he had been neglected and undersocialized. When he arrived, Ringo was emaciated at just 10 lbs, with a severely matted coat. He was so fearful and anxious that he had to be sedated for a medical groom. His former owner admitted she couldn’t afford vet care and hadn’t realized how underweight he was. She also shared that he would sometimes vomit after eating too fast, so she started feeding him less—only making things worse. Fast forward three months, and Ringo has made a remarkable transformation! Now a healthy 17 lbs with a gorgeous fluffy coat, he has adapted well to home life, thanks to the loving and attentive care of his foster parents, Inge and Allen. They’ve nurtured him and helped him gain confidence while teaching him the rules of home life. Ringo is fully housetrained and has excellent house manners. He can be trusted with free roam in the home and has never chewed or destroyed anything. He also loves going on walks and has good leash manners. He’s become familiar with the crate, rarely barks, and sleeps soundly through the night. He is hesitant around visitors and needs time to trust new people. While Ringo enjoys pets and sharing affection, we’ve also learned that he can nip if physically moved from a place he deems high-value—such as a couch or bed. He once nipped Allen’s finger when being removed from his lap because he wanted to stay put. While these incidents are infrequent, they still need to be addressed. To support Ringo and his foster parents, we brought in a trainer to assess his behavior and provide guidance. Inge and Allen have been working on setting clear boundaries, keeping a loose leash on him for easier handling, and restricting access to the couch until he learns to share space respectfully. With this structure in place, Ringo has already shown improvement.   FOSTER MOM UPDATE - 3/25/25 "Ringo is just so very sweet most of the time and has been on his best behavior since our training session. I truly believe he was abused in the past. He did leave a mark on Allen’s finger when he tried to move him, but he won’t bite just to bite—even if you take his toy. He’s also good when I put the leash on his collar. We’ve only seen this behavior when we physically try to remove him from our lap or his favorite couch or chair. Most of the time, you can simply stand up and tell him to come with you, and he will—but physically moving him remains unpredictable. I tend to be stricter with him (Allen is still learning how to say ‘no’ to him). Ringo listens to me 99% of the time. He used to put his paws on my lap while I drank my morning coffee, but now, when I tell him ‘no,’ he immediately lays down beside me and stays there. We’re working on the couch behavior, and it’s improving. We also now only scratch under his chin instead of the top of his head, which he associates with praise. Ringo is a quick learner. The biggest challenge has been when Allen heads to the couch—sometimes Ringo beats him there and is reluctant to get down. Since training, we’ve been keeping a leash on him for easier redirection, and for the most part, we’re keeping him off the furniture. This morning, Allen was watching the news when Ringo jumped up beside him. Allen got up, told him ‘Down,’ and Ringo listened! He hopped off and went to play with his toys. He’s truly making great progress!" ****** Ringo will do best in a calm, adult-only home with owners who understand his quirks and are willing to work with him. He would be fine with another calm dog or as an only dog.  He has already made great progress and just needs a patient, experienced owner who can reinforce his training while providing a loving and structured environment. In the right home, Ringo will be a devoted and affectionate companion, ready to share his sweet and playful side with those he trusts.   BREED ESTIMATE: Poodle Mix with Shih Tzu (ShiPoo) or Maltese (Maltipoo) GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  17 lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 6 years old COAT TYPE:  Medium-long fluffy coat ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/neutered/microchipped LOCATION: Rock Hill, SC   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. Story
Meet Marshmallow, the sweetest softie of a  Miniature Poodle on the planet.  Said to be about 12 years or older,  whorver guessed his age never lived with this spunky, active little guy.  No way does this little guy slow down or hobble?Along like an old man.  In fact, he jumps he begs to get in your lab. He climbs stairs. He just does everything up dog ten years and under would do. He runs and hops around the house like he's half his age. He keeps up with the young dog in the home, chasing and playing, running from room to room and not the senior boy he truly is. When not playing, he happily follows his foster mom around the house and is ready to jump on her lap if she sits down. Marshmallow is a happy boy that loves to snuggle and give kisses. Believe it or not, this boy is the outdoorsy type and loves to lay in the sun and explore the enclosed patio.  He is always up for a good walk on the leash is a champ. When being walked.  Just know he is the curious type and is an observant boy.  If he finds something that interests him he will stop and sit to watch what's going on. If you're missing him in the house, he can likely be found on the back of the couch looking out the front window-not barking, just being nosey. When he's tired, he will put himself to bed in his crate, usually burrowing under the blankets. His favorite place to nap/sleep is with his foster mom. Marshmallow is nithing but a joy to have in your life.  All he wants us love, snuggles, and comfy blankets. Story
This little sweet princess is called Charity and that is just what she needs from the world, some kindness and patience and charity of the heart &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143. This little girl was once a backyard. Breeder dog kept in a garage in a crate with others and not cleaned or groomed for months on end.  Soon the authorities came and took the neglected poodult's away and fined the breeder.  Charity has been with critter cavalry since march sixteenth and she has come so very far.   She is a five year old, nine pound, precious gray and tan Miniature Poodle.   She is navigating the emotional prison that she came from at the breeders home.  She was not out in the world, experiencing grass or blue skies or fresh spring breezes.  She was in a garage that smelled terrible from lack of being cleaned.   Now this girl has a backyard with spring, flowers and grass to run in and is slowly becoming acclimated to noises in the world that most dogs find normal.  She is still not really good on a leash, so we're looking for a home with a fenced yard made to contain a ten pound dog and someone that will slowly but surely teach her that being out in the world is fun and invigorating and a wonderful experience. She is also working on housebreaking schedule. But we are also using pea pads at the moment    She is fully vetted and very healthy and has obviously been shaved down and in a matter of just several months will be the prettiest little poodle, curly haired girl, that right now is one of the best snugglers ever.  She just crazed love and support and patience.   A lap to sit on a bed to sleep in. Perhaps company of another confident dog to show her that the world is not scary or harmful.  We would prefer her to be around older children that know how to keep the noise down and a calm environment.    She really is going to be the perfect little girl at the age of 5 she has so much more life to live as a normal, well-loved princess.   If you would like to rescue this little poodle girl, please write to critter cavalry rescue atccrnewengland@gmail.com &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143  she is currently in Nashville, Tennessee, and we transport to the northeastern states every weekend   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 4, 2025, 9:50 pm
