Story
This is Hershey, Purchased from Purebred Breeders in 2013. Hershey is very energetic for an older guy, but also truly enjoys snuggle time. He is very curious and friendly. He likes kids, but does not like being poked and prodded. Hershey is not a fan of other dogs, so will bark or try to dominate other dogs despite being smallest.

Story
Hi my name is Georgie.  I am a fabulous little miniature poodle who is 7 years old and I weigh 17 lbs.  I am an awesome little guy who is so very sad.  Today is the Sunday after Valentine's Day.  I spent Valentine's Day with my beloved mom and now I am in a strange home with 'other' dogs.  I miss my mom so much.  Her daughter told me that I was going to a loving foster home because my mom could no longer take proper care of me.  She was right but that did not help.  My foster mom is very nice and I know that I am safe and loved but....  It would be best for me to go ahead and find my forever home so that I do not have settle in twice.  I am a very sweet guy who loves adult people.  I would love to find a couple in their 50s or early 60s with no other dogs who would make me the center of their universe.  I am not being picky (well yes I am).  I don't ever want to go through the loss of my human again.  I am used to living with a woman but I also REALLY love men.  I know lots of tricks and would love to show you how smart I am.  I can shake hands,  high five, lie down, roll over and stand up and dance.  I am a little ham at heart.  I am paper trained but will do my business when you take me outside.  I do prefer that you go with me and would love a fence in yard of some sort.  I have no real health issues but I am allergic to chicken and a bit picky about what I eat.  I also have itchy skin but think that is because my mom bathed me too much.  I prefer going to the groomer and do need to go frequently.  I do need a new family that can afford to take care of me.  After all I think I am a prince.  I know how to walk on a leash but my favorite thing is to ride in my carriage.  (It is actually a stroller but I prefer carriage.)  I hope you have cried and then laughed at what I have had to say and that you are now ready to apply to be my true forever family.  I have been neutered and am current on all my shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.  To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (I am currently in Tennessee but can be transported to my forever family upon adoption.)February 23, 2025, 9:42 pm

Story
This handsome Miniature Poodle boy is called Wrigley and he is a young 3 year old, 14 pound sweetheart looking for a home.  His life started off with a breeder and he was purchased as a Christmas gift for young children who soon grew tired of the novelty puppy.  They were supposed to take care of him and the parents were not willing to pick up the slack for his care.  The solution was to put this poor 14 pound boy outside on a tie out in the cold elements of Winter.  A neighbor grew so concerned about him and asked if they would give him up to a rescue.  They fortunately agreed and soon this handsome Poodle was in the right hands that could change his life.  He needed to be neutered and it has been done with all other vetting.  Wrigley is a happy boy despite the lack of love and past care.  He seems to have been unfazed that he spent time alone outside and not receiving the real love and snuggles that he so freely gives now to his foster mom. He is back to working on being housebroken due to the tie-out time he spent outside but is crate trained and we have groomed him just before neutering him.  He has a whole new life ahead of him and we have polished him up to look as dapper as he could before leaving for a new forever home. If you have been looking for a young Poodle to rescue and love then this is a rare opportunity to get a fully vetted boy with no hidden issues or fears.  He is fine with other dogs, cats and gets along great with everyone he meets. Wrigley was wonderful to the children in the first home even though they did not appreciate him. This treasure is just waiting for a miracle family to love him.  Could that be you?  He is in Tennessee and we transport northward almost every weekend.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 14, 2025, 8:28 pm

Story
Teddy is an 8-year-old poodle-shih tzu mix. We originally rehomed Teddy when he was a little over a year old when some friends were moving and didn’t have the space for him. He’s been a sweet, cuddly dog for our family, but he has some health and behavioral issues. He’s on medication for anxiety and we’ve come to realize our home environment, particularly with two small children, exacerbates this. He’s not an aggressive dog, but he will nip at them if he feels like they are going to touch him. He also resource guards napkins, paper towels, etc. He has chronic ear infections, which our vet believes is a combination of the hair in his ear trapping dirt and possible allergies. He is an incredibly loving and playful dog with adults he knows. He loves to be close to those he feels comfortable with, sit in laps, and play fetch with his ball. He is housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic commands he learned at obedience school. He also does well with other dogs.

Story
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - HERSHEY BREED - Miniature Poodle mix SIZE - About 15 pounds AGE - 10+ years GENDER - Male MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Hershey is a wonderful little fellow who recently came to us from an eastern NC shelter. We have no knowledge of Hershey's past though he must have been someone's beloved pet. He's very loving and well trained. When he arrived, Hershey was in immediate need of grooming, but otherwise appeared in good shape. Because his teeth needed care, we had our vet perform a dental, removing bad teeth and cleaning the rest. This quiet, clean, perfect little sweetheart would be happy beside his special person enjoying a quiet life. He loves everyone he meets and we feel he would be kind to other small, well behaved animals. Hershey is seeking the companionship of a wonderful adopter! Though Hershey weighs about 15 pounds, he should lose a couple to be at a healthy weight. He is a perfect size for most homes! For a young senior dog (likely around 10 years) Hershey is in good health, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with him. A home without larger pets or small children, and with a fenced, secure yard will be required. He will make a wonderful companion for a senior person who is able to care for him independently. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Hershey and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Hershey at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.

Story
This is a sad post to make, but necessary for my family and Oshi. Oshi is a mix Bichon Shih Tzu that we have had for about 7 years. We believe he is between 9-12 years old. Unfortunately he doesn't get along with my Son and we need to rehome him. He would do fine in a home with pre-teens, but the erratic behavior of a toddler doesn't gel with him. To be clear, he has bitten my child after being provoked. We think he would do good in a home where he can be more the center of attention.
