He was super poofy when he came to rescue and has since had a haircut so his photos show all the looks he can sport! Interested in adoption? I'm a very sensitive soul, and it's taken me a bit more time to come around to living in a home and what it's like to be around humans. Housetrained: working on it Crate trained: no, and after that being my only means of living, I'm very scared of them. Good with: Dogs (I actually do much better with another dog who can help me learn how to be a part of a family), cats. No kids, please, they are a bit too much for me. Special needs: hypothyroidism (meds for this) and gastrointestinal issues, specifically when switching food, so will have a specific diet. I'm ready to start looking for my forever home after month in my foster home and making small strides in the right direction. I'll need someone who is very patient and very understanding and willing to help me learn that family life is the best life. I'm working on my pottying outside, but I will need a completely fenced-in yard and a long leash while I'm learning that you are okay while doing so. It's a scary big world for me right now, and the great outdoors puts me in flight mode, so the fence is very important for my safety. Silverado is being fostered in PA. I am a silver mini poodle that was born on 11/9/2024. I was born blind, but I do not know that. I go by the name of River because I go with the flow of life. Being blind has not stopped me from playing, running in the backyard, and learning how to go up and down stairs. Toys, did someone say toys? "I love toys!" I love everyone I meet, 4-legged and 2-legged, with a wagging wiggly butt. Snuggling is one of my favorite things to do, on laps, on the couch..... well just about anywhere. I would do well in a home with a confident, gentle dog that can help me adjust to my furever home. Older children will be ok but little kids will scare me. I sleep in my crate at night. I am quiet for 6-8 hours then I need to go out to pee and pooh. Then I go right back into my crate and sleep till my Foster Mom says it is time to get up and play with my foster sister. I have a gorgeous coat that will require regular grooming. I do not mind being left alone as long as I am safely in my crate. I am a quiet guy. I only have accidents when my Foster Mom is busy and not paying attention to me. "Hey, I am standing by the backdoor. Got to go out.” I am also working on walking on a leash. It is a work in progress. I am UTD on all vaccines. So, I am ready to find my furever home. I promise to love you with all my heart.
