Meet Heidi, a sweet 21 lb. Mini Schnauzer who's looking for her forever home. She's super chill, loves hanging out with her humans, and gets along great with other calm dogs. Heidi is the momma of the pack at heart, always ready for cuddles or a nap on the couch or her dog bed. She is crate trained and sleeps peacefully through the night, but if you want her beside you in bed, she'll be more than happy with that too! She is leash-trained and enjoys short walks and is also potty-trained. She will wait by the door and speak until you let her out. Heidi's an affectionate girl who would be a great fit for anyone looking for a sassy but loving companion. You'll always have someone to talk to with her as she is a good listener and sometimes talks back too! lol. She lights up the room with her excitement and I know would be great in any home where she is spoiled. She was a former breeding dog, and her coat was in rough condition because of a poor diet and lack of proper nutrition. Her puppies took a lot of nutrients from her during pregnancy, but unfortunately, her breeder didn’t provide the care she needed to recover. As a result, she developed a bacterial skin infection and inflammation, which required two shots. Thankfully, she has been improving well, with noticeable progress in her hair growth and skin health. Heidi has been up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and was spayed. During her spay she also had a dental procedure, ears examined. She has been cleared by our vet to find her forever home. Her adoption fee is $2,500. It covers her spay (she was in heat at time of spay), microchip (lifetime registration), vaccinations, dental procedure, and extra anesthesia/iv fluid time. The extra care and training we have personally done since the time she has been with us until she finds her forever home. We're located in Hesperia, CA. but can arrange transportation anywhere in the U.S. if needed so long as the adopter covers the cost. Mira is a 2-year-old purebred Miniature Schnauzer who will be ready for adoption next week! She has been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, along with a dental and ear exam. She did have a dental and was in heat during her spay which needed additional anesthesia time. She is ready to find a home all her own. Mira is a confident, affectionate, and playful little dog with just the right amount of sass. She loves being with her people and will happily follow you around the house, always curious about what you’re doing. She’s also independent enough to enjoy her own space when she’s ready to relax. She has a fun, spunky side and enjoys zooming around the yard, but she settles down nicely and is always ready for cuddles. Mira is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and has a friendly, adaptable personality. Demi is a 10 year old purebred miniature schnauzer. She has megaesophogus and would benefit from a home with experience with that disease or schnauzers. Unfortunately, we have a family situation that is preventing us from keeping her. She is mellow in the afternoon and loves to lay at your feet while you work, and is higher energy in the mornings.

Fritz is an adorable 1 ½ -year-old, 10-pound, deep gray with white, Mini Schnauzer/ Silky Terrier/ Glen of Imaal Terrier Mix. He has an easy-care slightly scruffy coat. He LOVES toys and will make a game of playing with anything he can find. Please have lots of toys! He loves to play with any other playful dog. He can be so sweet and loving! He is a little shy but once he gets to know you, he will beg for love and attention. If you sit on the floor he will crawl onto your lap. He loves his human attention. He is leashed trained. He may need a little more house training, though he is doing well here at the sanctuary. He follows the other dogs outside as a group with the command “go potty” and happily does his business. My name is Rusty and I’m looking for my perfect home. I’m a sweet and lovable pup, 8 years old and weigh 13.8 pounds, we think he is mixed with Schnauzer. I came to AFC in March of 2024. I came from a hoarder home where 87 dogs were living. I’ve had a long road learning how to be a normal dog but I’m very precious and sweet if you give me a little time to get to know you. If you sit on the floor with me, I will climb into your lap and cover you with snuggles. I imagine I would be just as happy in your cozy recliner. I may need some more house training but I do go in and out on command. When the staff says “Go Potty” I go right out the door. I can use the doggie door too. I’m not a real fan of baths and I hate the blow dryer but I tolerate it. Luckily my scruffy fur is pretty easy care. With a little patience and love, I will learn how to walk on a leash. I’m neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Finding a home with other dogs will definitely help Rusty continue to learn and thrive as a pampered pooch.
