Story
Hi, my name is Sinbad. I’m a very sweet boy who is in rescue with my brother Jaxon. Although my foster mom doesn’t think it is absolutely necessary, it would be nice if we could be adopted together. Both of my owners passed away recently, so I’m looking for a new family to love. I’m 13 years old and really healthy for my age. I weigh 21 lbs. (so am kind of a bruiser), have had all those pokey things called shots, I just had my teeth cleaned (I have 8 teeth left!!), am neutered and microchipped, and I do great at the vets and the groomer. Everyone talked about what a good boy I am. I’m crate trained (but don’t really like my crate if I don’t have to be in it), like to talk to you (a lot), and am good with the other kids in my foster home. I absolutely LOVE to run, so if I could have a fenced in yard, that would make me so very happy. I don’t know about cats or other critters, but my foster mom thinks I’d probably chase them. I’m pretty quick for an old guy. She makes me stay on a leash when I’m outside, since I’d make a break for it otherwise. My leash manners are a little iffy, but I’m working on them. I love to be with you and would be your best snuggle bunny if I came to live with you! I’m being fostered in Michigan and can’t wait to meet you! Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Story
Roxie is ready for her forever home! Update: Many individuals have been inquiring about Roxie.  I’m providing an update to her status as she was on medical hold and now she is ready to find the right home for her. She will need a family that will help her with some special needs. Originally, Roxie had higher levels of protein in her urine and the Vet has recommended 2.5 mL or .5 teaspoon Omega-3 Fish Oil to place on her food. The 2 products recommended are Welactin Omega-3 which runs about $19.99 for 120 softgels month supply from your Vet or Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet oil supplement which runs about $22.00 for a 3 month supply from Amazon. Roxie was also having urine accidents in the house. Unfortunately, foster mom and dad were not picking up on her cues that she needed to go out and potty again so quickly. The foster mom thought she might have Cushing's disease as she would drink excessive amounts of water and then would need to go potty again after just recently going out. Good news, no diagnosis of Cushing's disease. So, with the consultation from the rescue's vet, several recommendations have been put in place for Roxie.  Foster mom and dad work to control her water intake to a schedule 16 ounces of water several times during the day and no water after 8pm. This allows for Roxie to be on a schedule for her water and controlled potty outside. The vet believes this will help her brain/potty connection. Foster mom and dad are also getting better at picking up on her cues when she needs to go out between potty breaks. This has significantly reduced her accidents in the house. There are times when she is left at home for several hours that a diaper is used.  Roxie has no problems wearing a diaper. She shows it off proudly with her suspenders.  :) This little girl loves her human family!! She is so happy and generous with her love and attention to her foster family. *Roxie came to rescue as an owner surrender due to no fault of her own. Her previous owners now have children and activities away from the home. Roxie was left crated for many hours daily. The previous owners wanted her to have a family that could be home with her. In her current foster home, Roxie is not crated and can be trusted in the home with a diaper. Roxie is a beautiful silky brown Schnauzer with beautiful soulful amber eyes. When Roxie first came into rescue she was very shy and quiet. Now that she feels comfortable and safe, she plays and follows her foster Mom and Dad around the house. She also can be a little bossy to her foster brothers and sisters. She loves being with her people. She is a very happy and spry 10 year old. She doesn’t act her age. We believe Roxie was leash walked to do her “business” as she was reluctant to go outside without someone. She still needs someone to go out with her when it’s time to do her "business" to ensure it is complete. Otherwise, she loves to explore the backyard by herself and runs and plays with the other dogs. Roxie loves to ride in the car; she is always ready to go. So... she is happy to travel with you on your adventures. She’s a really good loving girl.    This girl is an absolute doll baby that is well-mannered and extremely loveable. Story
Meet Puddles! A happy, energetic, one year old Parti Schnauzer mix, with maybe a splash of Maltese. Puddles was surrendered by her rescuer who found her alone on the streets. Not being able to find her original owner, she reached out to SRC for help. Now fully vetted she is ready to find a family with no children, to do life with. Her absolute favorites are cuddles, couch hangs were she can get a lot of pets, and playing. Puddles loves her toys and loves playing fetch. She also loves Laying in her yard and running as fast as she can around it, so for this reason her foster mom says a fenced yard is what she would enjoy most. Puddles is a girl who knows what she wants. She loves her things and her person all to herself, so would do best being the only dog. This cute girl coexists well with other dogs, but has taught the others, her things are hers! She would do best in a home with no other dogs, and no children or children visiting. This cutie is the total package! Utd on vaccines, spayed, housebroken, chipped, & crate trained. If she sounds like the perfect fit for your family grab that application and get approved to meet her. Updated 8-3-2024 $400 adoption fee is for both pups! Meet the dynamic duo of Henry and Helen! These sweet pups are puppy mill survivors. They were found alone in an abandoned house, and we’d like them to stay together. Henry is approx. 7-8 years old, 12 lbs. schnauzer/terrier mix (maybe some Beagle?). He LOVES his person and constantly will follow you around the house. His favorite activities include snuggling, napping, and hanging outside. He is house trained, does OK on a leash, and rarely makes a noise. You may hear him whine a little bit if he doesn’t know where you are. While out of the house, he is either left out or in the office with the door closed. He is trusted and doesn’t use a crate. He can do stairs and jump off/on the bed and couch. Story
$400 adoption fee is for both pups! Helen is approx. 9-10 years old, about 10 lbs. and a schnauzer mix (with the fluffiest tail and floppy ears). This lady is an angel. She is mostly blind and partially deaf but gets around well. This does not stop her so don’t let it stop you! Helen loves lounging in the sun, napping, and generally being the sweetest pup in the land. This gal is low maintenance and does not bark at all. She isn’t leashed train so a fenced in yard is required. She does need picked up to put on bed and couch. You just kind of pick her up, put her where you want her, and she’s good to go. She is house trained and like Henry is either left out or put in the office while her foster parents are out. Both dogs do well in the car, at the groomer, and at the vet. They do have sensitive tummies and take a probiotic but are healthy. Both Henry and Helen eat casually when they are hungry but do like treats. Both spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, and on flea/heartworm preventative. They have been around children as young as 2, not tested with cats, and get along with other dogs. If you are looking for quiet, chill dogs that are full of love and sweetness then this is the pair for you! Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Unknown Gets along with other pets? Story
Duke is around one year old and came into rescue as an owner surrender along. Duke is a very fun-loving and energetic boy who loves to run and play. He loves playing with toys and his foster siblings who he is still learning social cues from. Duke would do best in a home with another playful pup and a yard to with room to run. As much as he loves to play, he also loves to cuddle on the couch. Duke is crate trained. He eats, sleeps, and stays in his crate when home alone. He is mostly potty trained and is learning not to mark indoors. Duke is neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats?
