Story
Camden came to TJO shut down and terrified, but with support he slowly grew more comfortable with his new surroundings and came to realize that people don't have to be so scary! He is still wary of stangers, and will need to approach and interact in his own time. Some dogs are naturally timid or shy, while others may not have learned to trust people while they were young. These dogs need to feel safe before they will interact with people; the work to build a relationship of trust could be a long and hard one but the experience can be one of the most rewarding of dog ownership. Chicken Little Dogs: are fearful of new people and places, take time to trust, shut down here at the shelter, and will bite if people push or try to interact too quickly. However, once they trust a person, the often become very bonded. OTHER PETS: Camden shows some interest in other dogs, but is fearful when they approach. It's possible he could get along with a calm, neutral dog. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Camden needs someone dedicated to providing him with patience and support as he adjusts to both his new home and the world around him. He is a possible flight risk, and would do best with someone who has experience with fearful dogs. [Some Experience] KIDS: Camden is uncomfortable with some handling and is a possible flight risk when startled, so he would do best with kids that can understand his boundaries. [10+ (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Camden becomes very social & playful when he's comfortable, so although he loves hanging out on his favorite person's lap, he'd also be a great walking buddy with further positive reinforcement training! He is particularly fond of fetch. [Couch Potato / Good Walking Buddy / Flight Risk] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Camden is jumpy on leash, and he still needs to learn the foundations of how to walk on a leash with positive reinforcement. Camden is still at the beginning of his training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while he adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help him not only learn his basic cues, but also help him to feel more comfortable and confident in himself! It will provide a good opportunity for him to bond with her new owner as well. [Moderate] GROOMING: Because of his fur texture, Camden will require routine brushing in order to prevent any knots or matts from forming. Scheduled appointments with a professional groomer are also recommended to keep him clean and comfortable. [Routine Brushing / Professional Grooming]January 9, 2025, 7:03 pm

Story
Wrangler 11 year old schnauzer, 19 pounds and his friend Princess Pugsley, 10 year old 15 pounds pug were with their owner for all of their lives. The owner fell on some hard times with health challenges and ended up living in a hotel which the owner was removed from and the dogs were left behind. They are such friendly, well mannered seniors. Crate trained. Potty trained. They LOVE kids, other dogs and don't bother with cats. They will not be separated.
