Story
** Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea ** • Personality: She's sociable and energetic. She adapts to new places right away and loves to reach out to new people and friends she meets. She knows how to say hello to familiar people and friends. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to play with people. She picks up on new training quickly, so we think she would make a great dog for a family with a good understanding and training knowledge of dogs. She's a bit of a sneaky prankster right now, so she can get into trouble, but she's affectionate, gentle, and full of energy. • Affinity with -Cats:She is currently living with cats in a temporary foster home. She is not aggressive with cats, but she is very interested in them, so if you have a cat that likes dogs, she would be fine. -Dogs: She is currently living with the dogs in her foster home without any issues. They play well with each other, are socialized, and warm up quickly to new dogs they meet. -Adults/Kids: She is very fond of people and loves to be petted. She warms up quickly to people she meets for the first time. • Shedding: Moderate. There is shedding in certain periods. Her fur is best brushed daily with a silicone brush. • Walking Manner: She loves to go for walks, both familiar and new, and prefers to take fast, wide, territorial walks (rather than slow, sniffing the trails). He also loves to run in the park, but will sometimes try to run outside if there is no fence. she is fast and has a lot of energy, so she loves to run around in large parks and meet people and dogs. she also loves to go for walks in the mountains, but she has a hunting instinct and is interested in small snakes, rodents, and birds. • Housetrained: She goes potty on pee pads and highly prefers to go outside. She can chew on wood and plastic furniture and will grab small items that fall on the floor and play with them. She's very playful and will run around with you if you have a like-minded friend in the house. • Separation Anxiety: She's always been around other dogs, so we can't confirm, but we think she'll be fine on her own. • Bark or Howl: She barks briefly when she hears strangers outside. There is no howl • Carsickness: She had drooling at first, but now she rides well.

Story
Meet Lucas! Lucas is 5 years old and 32 pounds. We aren't exactly sure what Lucas is mixed with but we think some type of Schnauzer, Terrier, Goldendoodle, whatever he is, he is sure handsome! Lucas loves to be with his person and does great with kids too. Lucas does okay with most other dogs but would probably prefer to be in a only dog home. He can be a bit vocal when left alone at first so he probably should not live in an apartment. Lucas does well in crate after a short vocal dissaproval. He has been through lots of training and knowsa leash well and all of the basic commands. Lucas had recent blood work at the vet. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $650. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs on to their new adopting families leaving in March 2025 to the East Coast. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Hailey to our trip for the right home 💕 Meet Hailey ❤️ She is a 3 year old, salt and pepper, 18 pound, miniature schnauzer. Yes, she is full grown, and at a very healthy weight. She is spayed, current on all vaccines, and microchipped. She had an overall great physical exam with our vet and has been cleared to find a home all her own. Where do I begin telling you how great Hailey is ❤️ She is an Amazing, Kind, Beautifully Natured, SWEET girl who is the absolute definition of all that I LOVE in this breed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ She very quiet, doesn't bark! She is serene tempered, LOVES nap time (a little to much 😂 and will sneak in a couple of them a few times a day every day!) She is so very calm, and must have an old soul because she is very mature for her age (hence the nap time Routine of hers 😂.) She is AMAZING with ALL dogs big or small, and cats too!! She lived with a few cats that she would snuggle with all the time; so if you have another amazing friend at home outside of yourself of course then she would happily join them in life and become one of their best friends as she would become one of yours too ☺️ She is AMAZING in the house. She is not destructive at all. She is very confident and independent. She will lounge around the house during the day, and occasionally get up to be a nosy body to see what you have going on, and if it's not interesting enough she will go back to her cozy spot she left before you bore her with your chores around the house 🙃 She is a VERY happy girl, and even smiles when she is happy!! Her eyes light up as if radiating from the joy in her heart. She truly is one of the most amazing, and so very special dogs we have here and one we will cherish always ❤️❤️❤️❤️ She is house trained, and will go outside to use the restroom when needed. She will get up and go sit by the door, patiently waiting for you to open it for her. If you ask her if she needs to go outside throughout the day she will get up and walk over to the door, if not, she will simply ignore your question 😅 She is crate trained; and will put herself in the crate to sleep. She will happily and peacefully sleep in her crate at night if needed. She will also lounge on a bed in your home or room. We haven't invited her in bed with us, and she hasn't asked so Ild say she is happy just being in a cozy bed wherever that may be! She is leash trained, and loves going for walks. She is very social, and always greets everyone with love. She is amazing on road trips, no matter the distance so if you want to travel with her she will always be happy to be right there next to you! She does very well with grooming, and is always amazing on the table with every single thing she needs done ❤️ Her owner had a really bad fall which required her to be in a wheelchair. She needed a lot of physical therapy, along with future surgeries that ultimately led her to us here to take in her sweet girl Hailey. She didn't want to say goodbye, but with limited mobility, and no help she just couldn't give her the life she deserved. Hailey is so easy to please, and it would have been easy to just let her continue living the life she had but she knew that wasn't fair to her even if Hailey didn't complain. Not being able to walk her, or pick her up broke her heart. She loved her so much that she wanted someone else to take over and give her the life she deserved to have again ❤️ Her adoption fee is on our website at the very bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/hailey It covers her spay. She was in heat at time of spay, so there was an in heat spay increase due to needing longer anesthesia time during surgery and an antibiotic injection to aid in the healing of her spay as it's a more delicate surgery when in heat. She didn't show any signs here, so it was caught early thank goodness and yes, she has healed from her spay ❤️ It also covers her vaccines; micorchip/registration, double ear infection we had treated (and yes, she is healed from that as well,) along with two seperate eye ointments that were prescribed to treat dry eye. Our vet says it's very mild as we had a Schirmer Tear Test done in both eyes to check the tear levels and both were slightly off. It will only be needed "as needed" moving forward ❤️ Although her vetting was great, and much greater than we are asking it was worth every single penny spent as she is that special and we just want her to feel her absolute best again ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Story
Ares, a 1.5-year-old male, has the stunning look of a mix of a Schnauzer and a Poodle. This handsome boy is an eye-catcher and his personality warms up your heart. He is affectionate, gentle, and loving. He was found roaming around a busy street, confused and scared. A Good Samaritan recognized that he was in distress and brought him to our partner shelter SOS El Arca Animal Rescue. Soon we discovered that the reason he acted so scared is that he is completely deaf. We don’t know why he ended up on the street as he wasn’t claimed, but we know he is ready for a loving home. A busy shelter is too stressful for this little munchkin. He would do best in a home with a fenced-in backyard. He needs a safe and steady environment with a consistent schedule to make him feel secure. Ares is very friendly, gets along well with other dogs,  and is neutral towards cats. He is crate trained and his potty training has begun and would need to be continued by the adopter. He is currently being fostered in CT and his foster parents started teaching Ares commends using a PetSafe vibrating collar. He is doing great at his foster home playing with his mates : two dogs and two cats. Ares is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. His current weight is 16 lbs. Are you the one for Ares? Please fill out an adoption application at www.sosanimalwelfare.org, or email us for more info: sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com We will happily get back to you!

Story
Meet Ephaba! This whimsical Schnauzer mix has a flair for the dramatic and a heart full of mischief, the mischief of stealing hearts that is. This spunky, silly girl casts a spell of joy on everyone she meets, especially her canine companions. Preferring the serene life of a quiet town over the Emerald City's dazzle, Ephaba seeks a family who appreciates the quieter, magical moments of life. Aimed at enchanting a crowd that's a bit more mature (over the age of 12, please), she's ready to lead her new pack on off-key adventures and cozy cuddles. Ephaba's tale isn't about defying gravity but about filling your life with laughter, loyalty, and a touch of wicked fun. She may not arrive by broomstick, but she's guaranteed to sweep you off your feet with her boundless love and spirited antics. Elphaba is 3 years old. She is vetted, spayed, and chipped. Our adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. Story
Archie is a calm, 8-year-old mixed breed (terrier and beagle) with a big heart and an adventurous spirit. He loves hiking, long walks, and exploring the outdoors but is equally happy to nap and relax for most of the day. Archie is well-trained, knowing commands like sit, stay, rollover, come, paw, and "talk." He’s a quick learner who thrives on games and mental stimulation. Archie gets along wonderfully with other dogs and older children (5+). He’s in great health, and our vet believes he has another 7–8 years of active, happy life ahead of him. Archie has been part of our family for 8 years, but with a young baby, plans for more children, and a potential relocation in the near future, we feel he would thrive in a home that can give him more time and attention. We hope to find a home that loves outdoor adventures, lots of cuddles, and keeping Archie engaged with fun games and activities. Archie is the perfect blend of chill and active—a loving companion for any family or individual.
