Story
Pre-Adoption only - earliest pick up Saturday after vaccines (7/13)
Location: Lexington, SC
Name: currently Toby but responds to anything that ends in “oby” or “ody” such as Koby, Brody, etc.
Age: 3-4 years is best guess (minimal plaque but definitely some there)
Breed: Schnoodle? Yorkipoo? Not sure honestly but definitely seems to have a doodle coat. Weighs in 20-25 lb range right now, but could reach 25-30 if he fills out more.
M/F: M
Spayed/Neutered/Shots: this friday he will receive dhpp, rabies, and bordetella; will also be heartworm tested and started on prevention assuming he is heartworm negative. Waiting for neuter confirmation appointment…. Will be chipped as well.
Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: has been good with dogs, cats, and kids. Barks at all males he meets at first, but is not aggressive towards them, and once they pet him he settles. I simply think he was exposed to them minimally with wherever he came from.
Aggression or medical issues?: no known aggression; seems to have food allergies (was very itchy) so we tried chicken free which helped some and then tried chicken and grain free and he itches & licks minimally now.
Reason for rehoming?: found stray - no chip, did full stray hold and still could not locate any owners
House/crate trained?: crate trained - does mark so I had him wear a belly band for a couple days so he thought he “claimed the whole house” and hasn’t had any further accidents since I have done that. Should stop after neuter.
Additional info/story (personality):
Walks well on a leash. Likes to cuddle. Will need grooming (will verify you are aware the rough amount this requires per year) and frequent brushing (scheduled for grooming on the 25th this month, was the soonest I could get). The “brown” around his feet & face is primarily from him licking and dirt, not his coloring. Has no interest in toys, I’ve tried many different kinds, but does enjoy treats. Knows how to sit, lay, and go to the crate. Does get on the furniture sometimes but listens well about getting off. Not too energetic and pretty laid back besides the barking at men. Went to a dog park and did great. Loves blankets.
Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home and remaining vetting is completed (neuter).
