Story
Everyone meet KENJI! KENJI (because I think she looks a lot like Benji from my childhood days) is a 1-year-old, 8 lb Yorkie mix that came from an overpopulated hobby breeder in crisis that bred Yorkies, Shih Tzu's & Poodles who had passed. She has been spayed, current on her vaccines & chipped. Most dogs in that environment are unsocialized to new people/new things & can be very unsure & timid. KENJI will need a very patient adopter that will give her time to acclimate to her new world as she may be very skittish & stand offish those first few days/weeks. After 3+ weeks, KENJI is ok with Foster Mom but is reluctant with Foster Dad, possibly because she is home more than him. Some dogs from these environments struggle with realizing they can love/trust more than one person & may never connect with anyone but their person. Please be sure that all members in the family are ok with this as it really does stink if all members are looking for that "family dog" but all they get is one that barks at or avoids them. Mind you, she may end up being the biggest love bug in a different environment. It's just best to be prepared for the what if's with these babies. She absolutely LOVES other dogs to run & play with so having another confident dog in the home that is looking for a playmate would be wonderful. She is a flight risk so will need a home that has a secured, fenced in yard that is not metal or chain link as she is one of the "climbers". You will also need to be mindful of doors that lead to the great outdoors (2nd barriers are highly recommended - baby gates are wonderful). This is also beneficial as you help her become confident on a leash in a secured environment. Please be sure to go to our Facebook & read/watch this post before applying: (look for the post with the red‼️) https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Bj9vWLY2J/? Interested in KENJI & feel you have what it takes to give this special girl the love & patience to teach her that that the world can be not so scary with you by her side? Definitely fill out an application to be considered. Our adoption radius is 150 miles from Jacksonville, FL. All other pets in the home must be current on their vaccines, spayed/neutered & on heartworm prevention.

Story
Everyone meet NOVA! Paisley was the first to engage with me out of the 8 girls & Nova was the 2nd. :) Nova is a 4-year-old, 5 lb Yorkie that came from an overpopulated hobby breeder in crisis that had passed. She has been spayed, current on her vaccines, & chipped. Most dogs in that environment are unsocialized to new people/new things & can be very unsure & timid. NOVA will need a very patient adopter that will give her time to acclimate to her new world as she may be very skittish & stand offish those first few days/weeks. Once she connects with you, she just has to be near you at all times. She can be a little vocal if she starts to miss you so condo/apartment/townhome living may not be most ideal for this precious girl. She is a flight risk so will need a home that has a secured, fenced in yard that is not metal (she is so tiny, she could actually slip right thru it) or chain link as some of the others from this group are climbers. You will also need to be mindful of doors that lead to the great outdoors (2nd barriers are highly recommended - baby gates are wonderful). She's only been on the leash a couple of times & although she froze at first, she did come to me as I called her but she has been with me for 3 weeks so she has a little connection & leash walks may take a bit of time for her to be ok on them. Interested in NOVA & feel you have what it takes to give this special girl the love & patience to teach her that that the world can be not so scary with you by her side? Definitely fill out an application to be considered. Also be sure to go to our Facebook & read/watch this post before applying: (look for the post with the red‼️) https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Bj9vWLY2J/?
