Story
Lumber is a happy boy who would love to lumber away from the shelter and into a home! Actually, we’re pretty sure he’d happily skip away from PACC and never look back if given the chance!! Here’s what his volunteer friends have said about him:“Lumber is a sweet boy who sure could use a soft place to land away from the shelter! He was easy to leash, and we got going on our walk. We made our way over to a grassy area to sit and snuggle. He appreciated scratches and gentle touch on his head, chin, chest and back.”“Lumber is a darling, friendly guy who leashes easily and is so happy to go out on a walk. He’s so smiley! Very friendly and agreeable, comfortable with handling, and loves to sniff. A very enjoyable companion!”“Lumber is a great walker! He really loves to thoroughly sniff his environment at a leisurely pace. In between he will sit for treats and take them very gently, making good eye contact. A nice, mellow, well behaved easy-going sweet boy.”Lumber spent a short time in a foster home where he loved to sleep close to his foster people and loved stuffed animals and bones. They described him as friendly, cuddly, silly, and playful. He was working on crate training and would benefit from more exposure to the crate in his future home. Lumber has a history valley fever (currently negative but would need to be watched life long), he also has a previous leg fracuture that causes a limp. He would love to find a foster or adoptive home where he can get the care he needs. In another foster home where he spent two weeks Lumber loved to be near his people and was quiet and well- behaved overall. He loved sunbathing in the yard, was housebroken, and loved chewing on bones. He enjoyed going on walks and was described as loving, warm, cuddly, and energetic:“Lumber is such a great boy and he deserves a loving home.”Lumber shares his kennel with another PACC pup and was social and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Lumber today!
