Story
Goofy is just what his name says, GOOFY! Goofy was pulled from LMAS because he needed longer to get a home because of his special needs. This what his foster parents had to say about him: "Goofy is the sweetest! He's basically a brindle colored tank! He loves being anywhere you are. He loves giving kisses and hugs. He tends to put his whole body weight on you when he loves on you because he just doesn't know what personal space is. His tail hasn't stopped wagging since he's been with us. He's really just a happy dog! He's so happy, he probably wouldn't make the best guard dog because he just wags his tail at every delivery person or neighbor he sees out of the window. At first he was timid, scared and confused but now everyone is his friend! Sometimes he gets things he's not supposed to like shoes or a cat dishes but he always just brings them to us and then walks away. When you tell him no about it, he just wags his tail and gives you a half smile. He loves going on walks and does well on a leash. He always needs something to do so toys in abundance are his best friends! He will even bring those to you to show them off! When he gets super excited, he chatters his teeth and drools a little. Unfortunately we haven't been able to successfully integrate him in with our resident dogs but hes doing well with the cats. So he would be best in an only dog home. He does seem to like to watch the bearded dragon, too! He would also be best with older children. Someone needs a little goofy in their lives, why not adopt this goofy guy??" Goofy is a neutered, 2 year old, Treeing Tennessee Brindle/Pit mix. He is UTD on vaccines and microchipped. He is potty trained and speciality crate trained. Goofy is also looking for a foster home so his current foster parents can help save other special needs dogs. Please fill out an application on our website for this sweet guy or reach out with any questions!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Beth (beth.lemmerman@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Online Adoption Application › Sweets came into our care on July 1st with her littermates and is ready to find her forever home.  Sweets loves chew toys, especially sticks, and dragging around the biggest stuffy she can find.  At 8 weeks old she weighed between 9 and 9.5 lbs. At 12 weeks old she was about 20lbs. Our best GUESS is full grown she may be somewhere between 50 and 70lbs.  She is working on housebreaking and doing well with crate training, and we are starting on basic commands, "sit" and "come". She is being socialized with other dogs and cats. She is still a rambunctious happy puppy.  She is microchipped has had 3 rounds of DAPPV and 1 round of Bordetella. She is up to date on preventatives. She will need to go home on a spay / neuter deposit.    CARE's adoption fee is $250 for dogs/puppies and an additional $150 neuter deposit will be required for any animals adopted prior to their spay/neuter surgery (and the deposit will be refunded when proof of surgery has been submitted). All CARE animals arrive in their forever homes current on age appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, as well as microchipped. Breed and adult size are best guesses.    CARE is an all-volunteer and foster-based rescue organization. We do not have a shelter facility and do not have any employees monitoring inbound applications and emails. Applications are reviewed by each animal’s volunteer foster home. It may be several days before you hear from this animal’s foster home. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Online Adoption Application › Spunky came into our care on July 1st with her littermates and is ready to find her forever home.  Spunky is super sweet and playful. She is doing well working on housebreaking for her age and we have started to work on crate training.  The breed is a best guess on these pups as they were turned into a shelter as strays. From what we can guess by their weight and growth they will be large dogs maybe somewhere in the ~50-70lbs range. Story
Abby is a female plott hound/mountain cur mix, around 7 years old. She still has a lot of energy and is very sweet. Her owner has failing health so she had to come to the shelter. She has had some training and knows a few commands. She would need to be tested with any potential canine siblings just to make sure they get along and she is not good with cats. She weighs around 75 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on shots, tested negative for heartworms, Lyme disease, e.canis and anaplasmosis, and is microchipped. Adoption fee is sponsored. If interested, apply at www.humanesocietyofmartincounty.org. Our shelter does adoptions by appointment only. An adoption application is required first.
