Story
On March 29th of this year 2024, our beautiful Lumina gave birth to 12 puppies and raised everyone of them to a place that they are now seeking adoptions.  Every0ne of these precious babies survived because of the great love and mothering skills of this Mountain Cur mix girl.  We call her Lumina because she illuminates the world with her kind spirit and sweetness.  When you look into her eyes you see a connection of love and hope. Lumina was a stray and discovered by a woman in Tennessee right at the time that she was almost ready to give birth.  Lumina has a calm spirit and someone will be so lucky to have her as their very own.  She has some anxiety about being left alone but with time she will come to understand that she will not be abandoned by new family.   She is housebroken pretty much and easy going and goes with the flow within a family’s lifestyle rhythm.   She is loving, adaptable, gorgeous and kind.   Gets along with all other creatures and loves the 4 year old toddler in the family.  A busy little boy who she loves to see.   If you interested in this girl please let us know and we will be so happy to send you an application if you email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Please also tell us where you live:  city and state.  We are in Nashville, TN but we also transport northward from Tennessee to New England and stop in 5 states on our route northward.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 8:06 am

Story
Razzle Taz has the most beautiful coal black eyes that pierce  your soul as he stares at you begging for some love and attention.  This boy was taken from an abusive family who were bragging to co-workers about kicking and tying him up.  The co-worker contacted Critter Cavalry and we found a wonderful foster family that is spending time getting to know Razzle Taz and what his emotional and physical needs will be in life.  This boy is 6 months old and weighs 32 pounds.  He is slim and  sleek and has the energy of 3 puppies.   This boy is so smart and curious and he needs mentally fun challenges daily and some real walking and exercise time in a fenced backyard or on the road running with an active person.  This boy is very smart and would benefit from games, flyball, agility classes, just thinking activities paired with exercise.  He is friendly with everyone and good with cats, dogs, children and ready to take on learning all he can about the world.   If your are interested in this Mountain Cur mix pup please write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 8:06 am

Story
This beautiful girl will knock your socks off if you run into her on the street. Never have we seen a dog with such beautiful brindle coloring and gorgeous blue eyes. Beautifully Bailey is all we can say when we think of her. She was found last Thanksgiving 2023 abandoned at a gas station out in the Midwest. Her Foster mom was traveling and she took Bailey in to give her a second chance at life since she knew a gas station could mean the end of her life. She cannot be a long-term adopted dog at this home. We are helping this kind Samaritan to find Beautifully Baily the right place where she can live out her life with a fenced in yard as a place to release her energy. For goodness sake a girl's gotta run off those calories to keep her girlish figure and mental health at tip top shape. This girl always has a smile and is in the best mood ever she's an all-round great dog she loves to chew on good things so keep plenty of chew toys around so they aren't your pieces of furniture or shoes or socks. Bailey is pretty much house trained but could use a little bit of help and tolerance. Occasionally she has an excited pee when her Foster family comes in to greet her.  She is not around her foster family a lot since they are so busy with their schedule and work. This limited attention to her brings out a submissive excitement that has her pee in submission.  It can be easily remedied with more attention from a different owner with time for her. We want a family that will walk her. take her to training classes and  continue to socialize her with other dogs and people. She's a stupendous creature.  If you're looking for something unique, smart and special, trainable and ready to absorb what you give her, then please consider Beautifully Bailey. Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an adoption form or answers to any of your questions. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 8:06 am

COURTESY LISTINGThis dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for ROO. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply. Introducing Roo: Your Energetic and Affectionate Companion! Roo is a 2 1/2-year-old Mountain Cur weighing approximately 50lbs. This handsome pup is bursting with energy, always ready for an adventure. However, when he's seeking affection, he knows how to switch into a calm and loving mode. One of the most endearing qualities about Roo is his love for affection and his favorite pastime—running and doing zoomies in the yard! You'll find yourself charmed by his playful antics and infectious joy. Watching him fetch and play with toys is an absolute delight. Roo is a well-trained dog who knows commands such as sit, wait, place, and kennel. He recently completed a 30-day in-board training, demonstrating his eagerness to learn and please his human companions. If needed, his caregivers are more than willing to cover the cost of additional training to ensure a smooth transition into your home. When it comes to manners, Roo is house-trained and has excellent crate behavior. He understands the cue to kennel up and is comfortable spending time in his crate. You won't have to worry about any accidents or destructive behavior. Roo enjoys playing fetch, spending time with his favorite toys, and socializing with other dogs. His friendly nature makes him an ideal playmate for canine pals of all sizes. Although he hasn't been around cats, livestock, or many children, he may be tempted to give chase to small creatures out of playfulness. From a medical standpoint, Roo is in excellent health, with no known concerns. Roo has shown compatibility with dogs and adults; however, he may need some time to warm up to new people. Slow introductions and a gentle approach are key to helping him feel comfortable. He walks well on a leash and rides calmly in the car, making him a great companion for outings and adventures. This sweet and intelligent boy thrives in an understanding and loving home. He's eager to continue learning, and his caregivers believe he would benefit from activities like swimming, as he showed great interest and enthusiasm during his encounters with the pool. If you're seeking a loyal and fun-loving companion who will keep you active and entertained, Roo is the perfect match. Adopting Roo means gaining a friend for life who will shower you with love, energy, and affection. Ask us about Roo today!    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. August 17, 2024, 11:52 pm

Story
Kodiak! This handsome hunk is Kodiak. He was adopted from us as a puppy about a year and a half ago and while he was well loved some major family changes (through no fault of Kodiak's) made his family decide that they were not giving him the time and attention he needs. As sad and confused as Kodiak is at losing the only family he knows he is trying really hard to put on a brave face and is now looking towards to future. He is an energetic goofball and would love an active, adventurous family. Like hiking? So does Kodiak! How about games of fetch? Kodiak is your guy! Kodiak is housebroken and crate trained, although we would expect any dog might have a few accidents while they transition ot a new home and routine. Although Kodiak is very dog friendly he is also a (large) bundle of energy and may intimidate some dogs with his....exuberance. He did happily live with another dog since puppyhood. Although he lived with a very young child he is a 60 lb freight train at times and as such will accidentally knock over little ones and would do best with older kids or an adult home. Interested in Kodiak? Please go to www.dogtownrescue.org to complete an online adoption application

Story
We are desperately seeking a foster home for our Luna girl. She's a 6 year old 50ish lb beautiful brindle girl.  A few months ago, Luna came back to us when her adopter’s housing situation changed. Without an open foster home, Luna went into boarding. She has been doing really well there, but we’d love to see her back in a home.   Luna hasn’t lived with other dogs before and we’re told she can be dog selective, so we’re looking for a foster home where she can be the only dog for now. She’s happy to pass by others on walks, we just don’t know yet if she wants to share space with them. Luna is not a fan of the crate so someone who is home more often than not who can give her time to acclimate to a new environment is ideal. Her biggest joy is hanging on the couch by your side. Luna  has a moderate energy level and walks pretty well with a harness. She is housebroken, but there may be an adjustment period as she transitions back into a home from a kennel. She’s very loving and attentive to her person. Although she hasn't lived with them, she is fine with kids.  If you can foster Luna, even if only temporarily, please email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com     Luna is a 6 year old beautiful brindle girl. She is friendly and fine with kids.   Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com is the right one for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US!  We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php and http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm (scroll down and click on the  "Invisible Fencing Systems" link). We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. Story
This gal has been at the shelter since she was a day old. Her momma was in an abandoned house and brought to us during the snowstorms in January. She and her sister are the last 2 babies to find homes. She will probably be around 45lbs when full grown as that’s what her mama is, we have no idea about the dad. Alyssa is a bit more shy around new people. She likes to play but will take a little time to warm up to her new family. She gets along with other dogs her size, she hasn’t been around too many larger dogs. She will need all the basic puppy training as she’s still young. She is a sweet gal who’s patiently waiting for a forever family.

Story
Our pretty little girl is called Cora and what a loving and sweet little Pointer mix girl she truly is.  She loves playing with other dogs and sleeping in the bed with her foster mom.  This little girl was one of 8 puppies left in an outdoor pen and basically abandoned by the former owner when they loved.  Neighbors stopped by for 3 months to feed and water the puppies and sadly that was all.  They grew and grew and eventually started fighting over the little food they had and the small pen was just so confining. One of the great Critter Cavalry Rescue foster moms heard of their plight and went to get them out of their hot, and confining pen that offered no exercise and not enough food daily…and NO HUMAN LOVE.  Now Cora and her siblings are seeking homes where they can spread their wings and bask in the love and care of their new families.  Cora is remarkably loving and fun and seems to not have been emotionally stunted by their early months of growing up abandoned.  We know that she loves other dogs!  She plays with a 45 pound black lab male that is a year old and “Her and Bo are like two peas in a pod”.  They absolutely love playing together, tug of war, chasing each other in the yard, or just sleeping in the dog bed together.  Cora is good with cats and loves the young children that are in the home, even with all their noise and high energy play.  She is almost there with her potty training and she is good with being in the crate at times needed.  Cora relates to people and loves them.  She always needs to be right by someone and loves to lay on your feet. She has learned not to be possessive of her good or toys as she first started out being.  We totally understood the possessiveness and now she is relaxed and eager to share.  This pretty girl and her siblings have come such a long way.  We are so happy for them to be in out foster care and receiving the love that they so readily deserve.  If you really want to adopt a “rescued dog” then Cora is the total definition of a rescued puppy! If you are interested in making her your own please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com!!! Story
Sometimes in the rescue world our stories about a dog we are presenting for a home just kind of leaves us a little speechless for adequate words. This boy that we call “Good Friend Charlie” is one of those deep and touching stories that we know only God had a hand in making come true as he was rescued. His foster mom Rachel calls him “a dream dog!”  But when she stumbled upon him hanging out on her countryside property where she raises chickens and geese and many other dogs that belong to her…she was not so sure of his friendly intentions.  We believe Charles was dumped in her area where he roamed for approximately 3 months, many attempting to catch him but failing as he was smart and elusive.  He roamed onto foster mom, Rachel’s property and within 2 days came out of survival mode (he would bark and bark at her while she was outside tending to her geese and chickens) and when she offered him a blanket one night as he laid in her flowerbed all curled up in 10 degree weather, he soon came back into domesticated mode the next morning.  Because of being abandoned, Good Friend Charlie has some separation anxiety and will need you to be patient while you earn his trust that he won’t be abandoned again and that you will come back for him when you leave.  This boy loves all other animals; dogs, cats, geese, chickens and he loves people of all ages.  He is only 3 years of age and weighs 50 pounds.  We think the grey on his face might be from early stress in his life.  Maybe from uncertainty that he has felt in whatever former life he lived. Good Friend Charlie is well-trained and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, off and wait. He even waits for permission to exit the door and waits for you to tell him he can eat his food.  He does well on a leash but he prefers to roam on his own and rarely will go more than 4 feet from you. This special dog would be wonderful for someone that does live on some acreage and just wants an indoor and outdoor companion and who is working from home or just retired and kicking back in their life.  He loves to ride in the car shotgun style in the passenger seat and he is a homebody’s best friend.  Charlie knows exactly what he wants and will alert you with a few barks to let you know he wants to go outside, or his water bowl is empty, or even when he is ready for bedtime and he is house trained.  He does have some jealousy if you are giving attention to other animals but he is easily corrected and gets better daily as he learns more about coexisting in this new home environment.  He takes to correction like a champ!  If you really want to adopt a dog that is the definition of “Man’s Best Friend” then Good Friend Charlie is your dog for a lifetime.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to ask about an adoption application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 8:06 am
