Good vibes only. That’s Tramp’s motto and the way he lives his life. This guy avoids drama and is all about peace and love. If he were a person I could see him with a long beard and hair with maybe some dreads walking barefoot everywhere he goes. Maybe he’d live in a VW bus on the beaches in Southern California where he surfs by day and plays guitar around a fire at night with friends where he talks about philosophy until the morning. He meditates and does yoga to the sunrise. You get the picture but seriously this dude is The BEST! He’s possibly a Mountain Cur Mix around 4 years old. He’s approximately 50lbs and is full grown. He gets along with dogs, cats and kids. He would love an active family that hikes or takes daily walks so he can make all the new friends. Kids involved in sports? He would love to catch the games on the sidelines. Do not sleep on this guy. He’s a once in a lifetime kind of dog. Think Tramp is the dog for you? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there! My name is Bruno Mars, much more handsome than my namesake, if I do say so myself. My one blue eye gives me a unique look. I'm a pretty active guy and would love to have a fenced yard or a very active family who will take me on adventures. I'd make an excellent hiking buddy. I seem to get along with most dogs and would love a meet and greet with any dogs in your home. About cats- that's an entirely different story- they are made for one thing...chasing!! So, no cats for me! Older children and teens would be best for me. I have been neutered, completely vaccinated, combo tested (I did test positive for Lyme Disease and have had my 30-day doxycycline treatment), and my preventives are up to date. I am a very sweet and gentle boy. I listen to commands and walk well on a leash. I do like to be let out in the play yard and smell all the smells from the other dogs. occaisonally I will get playful and run around the yard with the zoomies. I get along with most dogs but would like a meet and greet before you bring me home. I am neutered, current on preventatives, up to date on vaccinations, and combo tested (All Negative). Story
Meet Bruno! He’s a 5 year old Mountain Curr mix and just the sweetest guy ever! Sadly, both of his parents were admitted into the hospital and are unable to care for him any longer. We were contacted by a South Park police officer who was going into the home and feeding him on his evening shift and that was the only person caring for him. The police called multiple rescues, shelters and humane societies in the area and no one would take him. We couldn’t let this adorable guy sit there, so we immediately agreed to take him and promised him that we would find him the bestest family. How can you resist such a handsome fella in a tie?!?! Come see him! We are currently open Tuesday-Thursday by appointment only, and Fri and Sat 12-5, Sun and Mon from 11-5. Facebook comments and questions are NOT monitored. If you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment during the week, please email us at shpr88@yahoo.com. No calls please!! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. **WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Boo. I'm about 7 years old and I weigh about 60 lbs. Someone brought me into the pound and claimed that I was a stray. A couple of days later, a dog that had been here in the past, my friend Zoe, came in. She was chipped and had been adopted back by the son of our owner. His dog Karma was also in the pound with Zoe at that time and he got them both back home. When the girls here called to find out what was going on with Zoe, he stated that after getting Zoe and his dog Karma back, his parents were mad that he brought them back home and they kicked him out of the house. He found a safe place for Karma to stay, but Zoe and I belonged to his parents and he didn't have anyplace we could go to, so he had to leave us behind. When she called him, she didn't know I was associated with Zoe yet, but he asked if a dog matching my description had also been dropped off or picked up within the previous couple of days of Zoe's arrival. He was told that I was here and that I had been brought in as a stray. He did know the name of the person that dropped me off and it is believed that the person that dropped me off did so for my owner. Needless to say, neither of us were claimed, and I guess that is probably for the better. I get to share a kennel with Zoe now and we do great together. We keep our kennel clean at night usually. Zoe sometimes has the "old lady" accidents, but we seem to be housebroken otherwise. I can be a little unsure of new people, so sometimes it takes me just a little bit of time to warm up. Once I know you, I am extremely sweet and I like attention and affection. I get along well with the other dogs I've met here at the pound. Zoe and I do not have to be adopted together, but if someone were looking to adopt 2 dogs, we would be a great pair. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable.
